Yesterday, someone who has known me for about 6 years or so,
someone who I consider a bit of an authority figure,
who has seen me pretty close to my worst,
asked me :
"Do your realize how far you've come ?"
(art journal page - may 30, 2009)
My reply ?
A pause, a bit of a sad smile and
"No."
How is it that someone outside me sees it,
but I don't ?
Still, the universe brought those words to me
through her, yesterday,
and for today,
I will realize
how far
I've come,
and smile.
Happy Saturday, beautiful Travellers !

First, I love that journal and the colors and design so much. It is one of the prettiest things I've seen in a while.
ReplyDeleteSecond, what a nice compliment to receive!
Love the journal page. I think it's always easier for others to *see* rather than ourselves. We seem to have blinders on, or can't *move* fast enough, learn fast enough, make changes fast enough, to suit ourselves. We dig ourselves little holes. Ptuiii! It's nice to get a little push from someone who knows us, to make us take a little notice that things have changed.
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful compliment you were given....now take it and run wild with abandon !!!
ReplyDeleteSo far indeed...and here's to the never ending journey!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny isn't it how it can be so hard to see our own growth sometimes? That's part of what's so fabulous about having friends who see us and reflect back to us. (((big hugs!)))
ReplyDeleteHey you cool queen. You've come a long way baby. :)
ReplyDelete~Hugs~

I love the way you think -- that the Universe brought you the message through your friend -- I believe that wholeheartedly:)
ReplyDeleteYou are one special gal!:)
I also meant to tell you how beautiful the journal page is -- I especially love the colors.
ReplyDeleteI love this! You are so amazing with your journal pages Kim and this question!
ReplyDeleteToday's my 7th wedding anniversary and I'm definitely thinking about how far we've come and how much I've grown since 6/1/02. It's funny how when you don't think about it, you don't notice. Maybe we get so busy being us and fixing what seems broken that we don't see all the great things that have grown and developed.
Cheers to seeing how far we've come!!
What a beautiful thing to have been told! :) It's not so unusual that you can't see it. It's always a better view from farther away :)
ReplyDeleteThe journal page pops with happiness :)
Hi, Kim! What a nice thing to hear! Congratulations! :-)
