A Circus of My Very Own !

Have you visited Teesha Moore's blog "teesha's circus" lately ? She posted a ton of videos this weekend on her art journal techniques. Free, available to everyone and wonderfully descriptive videos showing Teesha's art journal process every step of the way !

I spent most of the morning watching the videos today. I got so inspired to try things the teesha-way that I spend the rest the morning playing away in my art journal. I learned a lot and it was very fun to try new techniques out, guided by teesha's own words.

Here is where my page is at now :

This is very different for me but I am liking it. I don't know that I will adopt too much of teesha's techniques into my usual stuff but I think it is so fun to just be loose and relaxed and try things out and see what happens. I love that Teesha uses the word "intuitive" a lot. Just following your gut, letting the inner artist place things where you want to, avoided that nay saying voice that says "but that looks weird !!!" and just going for it ! I love it ! Fearless creating by the Queen !

The next series of videos Teesha shares will be about lettering. I will then work on completing this page with some journaling. I love, love, love Teesha's lettering style! It is very distinctive. I would love to really develop a lettering style of my own. I think that experimenting with someone else's style and taking little bits I like from here and there may just bring me where I want to go !

I added a Rock My World rock in these shots of the page. It was the one that jumped out of the bowl for me this morning.

Kind of fitting, don't you think ?

I love it when those little messages keep coming !

I hope you find some time to play and open your mind to some new possibilities this week, Beautiful Ones !

Happy Monday !

Love that rock in the picture! Yes it really speaks loudly. So much fun to let it be so. An open mind is a wonderful thing. It takes one from questionning to participating in life situations. This is magic! Participating in life! that is all we need to do...!
    Thank you for sharing you!
    Lovingly,

  10. Hello my favorite cheerleader!! Thank you so much for warming my heart with your comments.

I just love the way you do that. You took something very distinctive - Teesha's style - and made it completely original and all your very own. That is marvelous talent, woman!

I love Teesha's work, so I'm very excited about these videos. Thanks for putting the word out! I WILL be watching them. I would have been doing so today, had I known earlier. Still, I'm glad I got to spend time playing because that's exactly the place I was in today - that place where you don't worry about the rightness or wrongness of placement, or screwing anything up. It was a rare treat for me and I'm hoping it's just the beginning of a new way of life for me. Oh, the freedom - I love it!

Well, good night sweet Queen! *** Sleep well and sweet dreams. ***

  14. i watched those videos too and it is so amazing how they make you want to drop everything and just dive in and play... if i didn't already have like six projects on my desk right now i would have started in too... but this afternoon might just be the day :)...

i've been dying for some copic markers for ages, and now i see why...

your page is stunning... i absolutely love love love what you have done so far and can't wait for the lettering... i think it is really so wonderful to be able to learn from one another, practice, and then incorporate new techniques into our own art to make it all our own...

this page makes me smile so much i want to just clear off the desk right now and jump in :)

  19. Kim, you are truly OPENing up and having way too much fun!!....(but can anyone ever have TOO much fun....heck NO!) I love Teesha....her vids, art fests and style. When I went to ArtFest, I was like a drug addict...almost Art Overload!)....just keep playing..you really do have your own sense of style....and it makes my heart sing when I see it. Play on Sista!

  20. Nice work Kim! Teesha was very generous with those videos, wasn't she? So fun, but it'll take me a while to get through them all!

  21. I too got caught up in those videos (and ordered some stuff from Teesha so hopefully I will have some journals made and ready by the 21st when we will be playing all day!!). I was so thrilled that someone would offer all this knowledge...at no charge. It's so de rigeur these days to offer for $$$ -- and I believe she has been a huge hit throughout the web!!

I love what you created..not your usual, no, but then, playing around with what is different can be very good for the creative soul. I want to play like this too -- not my normal style but there is something about it I find completely enchanting!!

  22. Kim! I meant to comment earlier and forgot to - I love this! After seeing your pages and others and seeing the videos - it wouldn't leave my mind so I had to try this too!
She has 2 lettering videos up that links were posted to Tracy's blog or search youtube. Still more coming but they were cool!

I'd love for you to take a peek!
