Haiku My Heart Friday - Perseid

(image from keen observers)

A meteor hit

Suddenly knocking me down

Luckily I bounce.

**********************************

I am a little early with my haiku this week as I am leaving again. I will be spending a nice long weekend with David and Chica up at my friend Kim’s cottage in Quebec, an hour or so north of Montreal. We hope to be able to catch some the the August Perseid meteor showers while we are there in the country away from city lights.

David will be home after the weekend and I will extend my stay to spend some time with my Mom who is still recovering from her broken leg (a few more weeks of no weight bearing!!! –healing prayers welcome !), as well as to see a few of my favorite Montreal Chickies and Family.

I am bringing my art journal goodie bag with me and I hope to get a few pages done up North. Feeling itchy again…

Anyone who would like to sign up for my 400th Post Giveaway, you have until next Friday,  the 20th, to do so !

I probably won’t post while I am away but I may check in on you, Beautiful Ones. Have a great weekend !

Big Love !

  12. The haiku brings back such good memories from when my sons were young and we'd take blankets out on the lawn in the middle of the night to gaze at the Perseids flaming across the sky. Of course they usually fell asleep before Mom and Dad had enough star-gazing and we'd cover them and eventually carry them back to their beds.

  19. It's been many years since I was outside the city on a cloudless night during the Perseids, though it used to be a ritual for me and my friends. This year it was cloudy here. Well, someone somewhere saw them, so I will be happy vicariously.
