Sunday morning, March 13, 2011.
Daylight Savings Time is in effect.
This day always feels like you are running after time.
It feels like 8:30 am but it is already 9:30…
Most days do feel like that, in fact, with Life going so quickly it makes my head spin sometimes.
With all the horrifying events happening in our world today,
I do the only thing I know that works to keep life making sense.
I turn to gratitude.
Deep Thankfulness for this day, this moment, this breath.
Deep thankfulness for the ones I love…
Oh, I draw them close to me in my heart..
Thankfulness for my ability to still see what is good and beautiful,
in spite of the evil and the horrific.
Thankfulness for my compassion and the strength of my Love, and for the beauty of my Own Soul.
And gratitude for my Voice, my Creativity, my connection to Others in my world.
Deep gratitude for all that I have and all that I am, really.
“Today, like every other day, we wake up empty
and frightened.Don't open the door to the study
and begin reading.Take down a musical instrument.
Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.” – Rumi
I plan on spending this gift of a day BEing, to the best of my ability.
In gratitude.
Light and Love, Beautiful Ones.
Beautifully spoken, beautifully expressed. This is the way to spend the day -- being grateful and perhaps kneeling too, to kiss the ground. xo
ReplyDeleteI love this. You are so inspiring. Sometimes it is hard, but we do need to try to live each day, each moment, in gratefulness. Kiss the ground, kiss the dog, kiss the flowers, kiss the running water and the fridge!! Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteKim, this is so beautiful, and I love you so.
ReplyDeleteI'm right with you here Kim! Just BE today... 'the sky in your eyes, the earth in your touch'...
ReplyDeleteHigh-five Sistah! You have such a way with words. And in seeking the importance of life.
ReplyDeletePS: I am over-the-moon that you are a traveling sistah too!!!

Thank you for bringing me into the day so beautifully! <3
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post Kim, love your being, love your twinkling art and twinkling soul. xox Corrine
ReplyDeleteBeautiful words. I feel the same way. Last night I spent a bit of time before bed just being grateful for having a home, a bed to sleep in, food to eat, water to drink, and safety....which is more than so many people around the world have right now. We have so much to be thankful for. It's good to put your gratefulness out here for everyone to be reminded. Thank you.
ReplyDeletebeautiful kim....and simply being is such a good thing
ReplyDeleteJust lovely Kim... Simple gratitude!
ReplyDeleteThe quote is perfect, Kim. "Let the beauty we love be what we do." In the middle of all that is currenlty going wrong, both at home and out in our big wide world, I am hangin onto the good as best I can. Thank you for a lovely post.
ReplyDeleteYou are a true blessing to everything and everyone around you. Thank you for putting first things first. Letting Love Radiate! and you are not alone!! We are many, many around the earth and whether we know it consciously or not, we are connected! Love and thankfulness are the answer. I am with you my beautiful daughter.
ReplyDeleteLove you,
Mom

It did feel as if the day got away from us here too. Suddenly it's late - too late for this or that. Perhaps a tip of the hat to slowing down, nodding to BEing. Good ideas!
ReplyDeleteOh! I must hug the puppy.
ReplyDeleteAnd you, for reminding me how important it is to just BE.
Thank you.
