Nature does not ask
If you are ready or not.
She just does her thing.

Yes.
We did get snow overnight here in NH.
For us, here in Manchester, it was just enough to make things a little white
and force David to find his scraper for the car.
It was early for this stuff, especially since we have had a pretty warm Fall.
I am not ready for snow.
In fact, it kind of makes my bones ache to think about what is coming.
But I can still find the beauty in this first snowfall.
The beauty is that it should be gone by noon.
Happy Friday, Beautiful Ones !
Haiku my Heart Fridays hosted by the beautiful Rebecca at recuerda mi corazon.
So very true. Nature can be so annoying at times.
ReplyDeleteYou'll find mine here.
Can you beleive it and more over the weekend. I am not ready either......Happy Friday, enjoy the sun. xox Corrine
ReplyDeleteOMG! Snow! That is amazing, beautiful tree in the background too. I guess with the long winter you'll get plenty of snuggle time :-). Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteKIm,
ReplyDeleteI am dreading winter this year since last years was so bad. There has got to be a way to embrace it more, turn it around, actually look forward to it. Hmm I see the subject as a future blog post. You've got me thinking this morning.
Even though we had those 4" of snow in Early October, its been a lovely Fall ever since. In fact the leaves just all fell off our trees a couple day ago. It could snow any day now. Time to put all my ducks in a row and prepare for the solitude winter brings.
Hugs and Big Love coming your way.
Kate
you are so right! She does what she feels...your light dusting of snow looks beautiful, we may be sending more your way :)
ReplyDeleteLove the haiku... I keep wanting to move somewhere cooler... but I too ache in the cold... I'm just not sure which is worse, hot flashes in the heat or aches in the cold!
ReplyDeleteYes nature does its thing and the image after what nature has done is simply marvelous!! Sad it gives achy bones too!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful haiku! I am not ready for our cold weather and we get more rain than snow. But Nature pays me no mind at all. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI am with Kate in that I'd like to find a way to turn my views of winter around and embrace it with some type of appreciation. Here in the Pacific Northwest it means icy cold dark days of either rain or snow for four months or longer. I am going to look for that way...
ReplyDeleteMy Queen, I'm wishing you a warmer afternoon and a lovely weekend, xoO
The sunlight through your 'bench' (what's the word?) and the little layer of snow... it's all beautiful! But to be honest... I'm not ready for snow either. That IS early...eeckk! Hope it melted an you got a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely haiku. Snow? Egads! I had to scrape my car this morning too - I just it's time to put the garden hose away!
ReplyDeleteSnow, wow [sayes the girl from Arizona]. Beautiful and true poem.
ReplyDeleteStay warm,
Always, Queenie
Too true. Even here in always the same CA, we have the occasional surprise and I like surprises.
ReplyDeleteour indian summer just took a dive to much colder nights! the last run of frosty mornings has finally laid our bountiful garden to rest.
ReplyDeletejust the thought of winter has me shivering!
noooooooooo.......not yet. no snow. you are not supposed to be here yet......please go away and wait your turn.........
ReplyDeleteWinter comes early and I know what you mean about not being ready for it. I know I never am. Lovely patio dusted with snow and love your haiku.
ReplyDeleteYeah really, how come Nature doesn't 'hem and haw' like me! Can't we just skip winter? Or I like you're idea. Snow and go away by breakfast. Ice scraper? I don't even know where it is!
ReplyDeleteso far we have been lucky although I can feel it in the air and know one of these days....have a great weekend Kim. hugs.
ReplyDeleteThere is a sort of "impending" feeling that comes with fall .... Impending winter! Argh! I agree with you about the early snows ... They are the prettiest and the briefest!
ReplyDeletewe got snow too and I wasn't ready either! love that crow you painted a few posts down!
ReplyDeleteYes Mother Nature is one tough lady...love the haiku...hope the early snow isn't a sign of the winter to come.
ReplyDeleteHow unexpected for you Kimmie! However, looking at your fab photo makes me want to nip out and draw a smiley face in it to make you laugh, then photograph that and put it beside your PC monitor! xoxo
ReplyDeletePS I am mailing you next week - will let you know when! 'o)
Nor does Nature say, "Take it or leave it." It's more like: "Here it is, baby!"
ReplyDeleteHaiku your heart here or here
What gorgeous light. And - yes - we all got unexpected early-season snow this weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt does look lovely there, the snow mingling with the still present fall colors. Heck, the leaves only just started changing colors, no? Glad to hear you only got a slight dusting. We got hit with a whammy! Unexpected for us in the city as they were saying only 1 or 2 inches, and then late at night. Well, they were sooooo wrong. But it was all gone by this morning, thank goodness. Hoping that was just a stray thing, and we can have a little bit more fall!
ReplyDeleteHehehe. That made me laugh. It's sort of what I think on the rare occasions that Portland gets snow. As in, yay, it's pretty! As in, yay, it's going to be gone soon! ;)
ReplyDeleteWishing you warmth and comfort!
