Outside my window... it is cold (40 degrees, 4 degree C), bright, sunny and very windy.
I am thinking...that I will have to wear socks today for sure…bummer!
I am thankful for... the wonderful Birthday/Halloween weekend that David and I shared.
I am wearing... a blue Old Navy cotton dress (a bathing suit cover up really) with black sweatpants under it and believe it or not, my old, beat up El Naturalista green clogs that really belong in the trash… oh and my glasses.
I am remembering...that last November, a certain lovely Blogfriend came to visit me all the way from Toronto as a present for her birthday. It feels so long ago…
I am going... to get out there, bundled up for a walk in this blowy Fall day with the pooch !
I am currently reading... Tales from The Bed : On Living, Dying and Having It All by Jenifer Estess
I am hoping...that I get a lot of work done on making stuff for the craft fair, the Canadian Chickie Christmas exchange and some gifts for my mom’s boss this week…
On my mind... “Enough of this computer, get to work !!!”
Pondering these words...
“The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other’s welcome, and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved youall your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf, the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.”~Derek Walcott

From the kitchen... left over carrot cake (groan…) stares at me every time I walk by…
Around the house... laundry spinning, kitties and doggie sleeping, wind blowing…
One of my favorite things : my new little Poketo Gear Case that fist my new camera perfectly, is cute and was inexpensive !
A few photos I would like to share…
David’s Home-Made Carrot Birthday cake with lemon cream cheese icing, pre-candle blowing and eating. Thank God we gave a huge chunk to Dave’s Dad to take home.
This thing is wicked….
The view of the deck this morning…
a few bare trees but
a lot of leaves still holding on tight.
This is why we usually bring about 50 lawn bags of leaves for recycling to the curb each Fall.
We are thankful for our handy dandy heavy-duty leaf blower, believe me !
Some plans for the rest of the week :
Crafts, crafts and more crafts, meditation tonight, a beach date with my Hubby Wednesday after work for some final Rock collecting of the season and lunch with a new friend, Susie, whom I met at the Patti Digh Book Event in CT, on Thursday.
That’s the scoop around my coop today, Lovely Ones.
I hope you have a sweet Monday and welcome to November !
that cake looks scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteI see that you came out of your candy coma at least. Cake looks yum, yum. I am trying to picture you in that outfit. Sounds like the kind of thing I put together here and I know those green clogs are your favorite.

Hope NOvember will bring all good things your way! LOVE the cake and ADORE yellow leaves (on as well as off the trees)
ReplyDeleteOoooh yummy. And you sound so comfortable...that's my favorite way of dressing. Lovely yard and yep hubby and I spent this weekend sucking up leaves with the mower attachment, shredding them and adding them as mulch to the surroundings. Metamorphosis at its best. Glad you had a great weekend. Hugs!

November always feels like the beginning...a new year...this year I am trying my damn-dess not to get the winter blechs. Your blog always helps...
ReplyDeleteXoX
Can you believe November already?! Glad to see your El Naturista clogs are still sitting pretty on your feet and that a good time was had for your own way to celebrate October 31. Funny how some trees lose their leaves quicker than others. I have a few hangers-on in my backyard too and refuse to start raking until much, much have falledn. Although that could mean raking with the shovel instead.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to David! What a beautiful selection you shared :) I feel that...I feel myself welcoming myself after years of neglect *sigh*
ReplyDeletesweet november ;)
