Removing Obstacles, Ready for Fun !
Things have been a bit messy in the studio since my Mom left last week.
Not that Pumpkin cares.
She just lies down on top of the piles and settles in to keep me company.
There have been Rock My World orders to fulfill.
And fun stitching swap bits to stitch on.
Now it’s time to tidy things up a bit.
Ganesh emerged from a box of treasures
just in time to help me remove some obstacles.
My dear old friend Tracy,
who I have know since I was 8 years old,
and her man, Craig,
are coming to spend a few days with us.
They arrive tomorrow and David has a few days off too.
On the agenda ?
A Dolphin/Manatee watch cruise, good food, some cocktails, the beach, and lots of love and laughter!
Bring it on !
Happy Wednesday, Beautiful Ones !

Share the Joy Thursday–A Mermaid Mandala
I made a mandala to day from sea shells and flowers from around my house.
The yellow ones are from a little bouquet of flowers that decorated the guest room for my mom during her recent visit.
The shells were all gathered with my Mom when we visited the beach at Fort Desoto multiple times over our week.
The beach was the very best part of our time together.
Two happy beach bums were we !
The turquoise background and the shells also reminded me of my favorite Mermaid piece in the studio.
Together they make a pretty altar
dedicated to my love of my new seaside life
and to the joy of having my Mom visit my new home.
Little joys and sweet beauty brought together by my own creative hand.
Love that.
So much joy to be celebrated.
Thank you for the sweet visit, Mommy. I love you so much !
Got Joy you want to share ?
Meri does it every week at Love, Meri.
And I was glad to jump in today !
Have a joy-full Thursday, Beautiful Ones !

Rock Messages : We are One
When I go to the sea
I remember that I am a part of it all.
Breathing, the ebb and flow, earth, water, sky…
I remember too,
that it is all a part of me.
“Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.” - Ryunosuke Satoro

Huge, Exciting news!!!
Rock My World rocks are being featured in a new book created with Patti Digh.
The book is being released in November but is already available for pre-order on Amazon.
It is the coolest thing to type in my own name on Amazon and have this book with my name on the cover show up ! So excited !
The book would make a great gift for the up-coming holiday season,
especially combined with a little bag of Rock My world rocks !
Inspiration and mindfulness tools filled with love !

Rock Messages : Slow Down…
“You drive like someone is chasing you.”
Those were the words of the driving test instructor who tested me when I was 31 and getting my license for the first time.
I am 49 now and those words still ring in my head every once in awhile.
Isn’t that strange how when the Universe is giving you an important life message, and it is coming through another person, those words are highlighted, circled in an echo of sorts that makes them just ring in your soul ?
This was obviously a pretty strong message if I am still remembering it 18 years later.
The message to slow down…
to claim my own space on the road…
to be present, mindful…
to Be.
Thanks for the reminder, Universe.
I’m listening.

Preserving sunshine…
Last week I bought this glorious sunshiny bouquet of sunflowers to grace my home when my dear friends Linda and Mike came for a visit.
This morning, the sunflowers were droopy, dropping petals and looking kind of sad.
Kind of like me after a sleep-less night of worrying about some peeps I love.
While my coffee was brewing, I went to my art stuff stored in the garage,
and brought out my Microfleur Flower Press.
I gathered the some of the petals off of the wilting sunflowers and arranged them on the press for drying.
About 40 seconds in the microwave and I had these beautiful bright yellow petals preserved.
Sunshine captured for later use in a collage or art piece of some kind.
Maybe a mandala with some other leafy bits from the past?
All the pieces carefully, lovingly, preserved in the pages of some old books ready to be given another chance to be part of the beauty ?
The sleepless night and the process of preserving these sunshine petals this morning made me revisit some lessons I am learning
again
for what seems like the billionth time.
Worrying doesn’t change the outcome.
Focusing on the negative only brings more negative to you.
And of course,
Love is the answer to every question.
Going to focus on how love applies today.
Starting with myself !
Happy Thursday, Beautiful Ones !

Haiku My Heart–I go to the Sea
I go to the sea.
Sky, sand, sun, cloud, wave, bird, air.
I return to me.
I return to the beauty of a few carefully chosen words and the bright hearts that share them at Haiku My Heart.
