With the Wind to my Back…

David and I woke up to a very rainy day on Cape Cod.

We talked about how many times we get bad weather on our vacations.

Too many !

Oh well, I had to brave the elements anyway.

The waves and rocks and bits were calling.

The beach was deserted.

Maybe that’s because it was pouring rain, 40 degrees and very very windy.

Ah, but I had the whole beach to myself !

Walking down the beach wasn’t so bad. The wind was to my back.

I walked down to the rocks I could see in the distance.

And left some rocks of my own…

Then, with my backside soaked, I decided to turn around and head back.

With my face in the wind.

With rain like little darts on my cheeks.

I walked fast.

Not quite as pleasant.

But hell, I could manage a smile anyway. Kinda…

After all,

I am just so happy to BE here !

Happy Tuesday, Beautiful Ones !

Sometimes the beach is more wonderful in this weather and you are a tough cookie! Love the new blog look. Time to enjoy a fire and some snuggles with Mr. David. xox

I like this post so much, Kim. You made the best of things and enjoyed each other, and that's SO what counts. Plus having the time off to relax and enjoy. Plus being able to see. To feel. To walk. All gifts. Much love, xoO

You're so generous and also very determined to brave that weather so you could leave the rocks. Happy Tuesday to you, too!!

Aaahhh... the beach is worth rain and wind. You look so cute with your face to the wind (know the song with the same title by Grace Slick? If not, you should look it up and listen one time..!)

I love the beach when it's cold! I feel like it's truly mine then.

It is a bit weird that bad weather shows up often on your vacations. But, as always, you make the most of it and smile! The beach is magnificent even in a storm.

What a treasure to have a beach to yourself! I've always loved it in a storm, especially the wild pounding surf! Just magnificent! Enjoy, my friend!

Did you know that you GLOW? You do! Reading your post I can almost feel the chilly wet wind, and your JOY at being the only one on the beach! Yay for you!

Thankyou for 'taking' me along with you on your walk on the beach! ;o) The sea-side is wonderful, even on a rainy day. I'm hoping to go this weekend and if I found litle pebbles there with messages like that I think I'd cry with delight!

I loved the virtual 'walk' on the beach, you are SO brave to go out in that rain and wind-but then what else would we expect from the Queen? :-)
The beach so much prettier with your added rocks, too. btw It's 79˚ here . . .
