Where Does The Time Go ?!?!?

"Lay Your Weary Head"

So it's that same old thing - chasing time ! I feel like I blinked and the summer was over. How can it be September 2nd already ??? I feel like I blinked and my nephew Tom was old enough to start kindergarten. My sister saw her baby happily take the school bus all alone this morning on his very first day of school !!! I feel like I blinked and three hours had passed as I played in the studio this morning. I sat down at 8:15 to create a journal page, finally got up to pee, looked at the clock and saw that it was 11:00 ! How did that happen ? I just don't seem to be keeping up with this crazy pace these days. I remember adults telling me when I was younger "Oh you will see. Time goes faster as you get older." but this speed is hard to take sometimes. Makes my head weary....

The journal page above was what I worked on/played with this morning as three hours of life passed by. As I looked at the photo, the words to the song "Carry on Wayward Son" by Kansas popped into my head. Talk about chasing time ! Kansas ?!?!

I do like the lyrics though...changed "son" to "one"...

I am off to try and catch up with the rest of the world now. Wish me luck ! Happy Tuesday that feels like a Monday big time !!!!!

Beautiful page! And yes, time does fly. My baby told me today he would like to play football, but he will settle for Taekwondo. Really.
PS. I love Kansas.

You talk about how time flyes but your page has that stillness you long for. I think it's good to let the hours pass while you art journal - don't worry about it though, enjoy it and the calmness it brings! :-)

great page!

Yes! I am a time chaser and just can't keep...your page is wonderful and I worse the most wonderful necklace a birdie could ever deliver yesterday!

A math teacher friend explained to me that time doesn't go faster, but the measured units become smaller and smaller contrasted against the total number of years we've been kicking around this big blue ball.

Whatever.

I think that when we're in our studios working, time just stops. We are entirely in the present and like astronauts traveling across the galaxy, are amazed to find that time has passed when we return to Earth.

Love the treasures you brought back from your trip through the cosmos.

I'm really trying not to blink anymore....lol

Really, though, it goes so fast..one day I was holding babies in my arms and then I blinked....and they are grown and going places on their own...wow

We do what we can do....keeping in the moment.....slowing down.....learning to appreciate...

I love your page. It is absolutely beautiful.
