My meditation teacher, Deb, who is also the owner of Full Spectrum Wellness
where I go for meditation each Monday, purchased a big bag of rocks to keep in a bowl in the lobby of the center.
Deb has told me how clients there have really been enjoying choosing little love messages for themselves and then passing them on. A few of the ladies in my class have shared stories of how they passed on the rocks in their own circles, and had some sweet exchanges with people.
One client who happened by the FSW center was the chef and owner of a local hot spot restaurant call Z Restaurant.
Tom found a rock that said "Do what you love." laying outside on the steps when he came into the building. He said he knew that rock was for him ! Then when he saw the bowl of the rocks in the lobby, he decided this was something he wanted for his restaurant as well.
As of yesterday, all Z Restaurant customers receive a Rock My World rock and a little added love, on the cute crooked white plates that they get their check on
.
.
This is the rock my friend Lois and I had on our check plate when we were finishing up our delicious dessert of "Almost Frozen Lemon Mousse" - yummmm...
So these events, as well as a generous purchase of some rocks from my Mom's boss in Montreal, have allowed me to start an added little aspect to my adventures.
I would like to offer you the chance to pay it forward, spread the love and rock your own world!
What I propose is that you send me an email with your idea for where you would like to share the Rock My World rocks in your neck of the woods.
It could be like my mom, who has a bowl of the rocks on her front reception desk so that employees at the insurance company where she works can all have an inspiring word to begin their day with.
Or like my friend Patti Digh does, offering rocks at her Life is a Verb retreats as talismans for the participants.
Or my sweet friend Kim and her son Riley, who leave rock love messages on their path on their morning walks with their dogs.
It could be like what Lyle and her daughter, Toni did, giving the rocks to kids who were having brain scans where Toni works as a technician, where the rocks help the kiddos to hold and and be brave in the face of something that can seem pretty scary.
Think of a place where you encounter people and could add a little extra love into their day. Think about how you can have a loving, kindness connection with others in your own life.
Think of where you can spread the LOVE.
Share your ideas with me and I will work with you to get some Rock My World rocks your way. This may mean free shipping or a free bag; we will work it out. I would like to use some of the profits I have made from selling my rocks here and there to make this love circle even wider and to continue to put it out there. The rewards I have received for these adventures are so much more than monetary and I want to keep that flow going.
Big Love to you, Beautiful Kind Ones.

This is so freaking amazing, Kimmy-poo, I could just plotz! Lovely! Lovely! Lovely! When I start my own business I will have a bowl of rocks at the door, promise.
Beautiful soulful gesture Big Heart, I don't have a specific place in mind, but I bet any battered women's shelter would welcome some of your rocks. My friends certainly have enjoyed them immensely...

oh kim, this is all so beautiful... rock on, dear Big Heart... xo
a beautiful idea Kim - I can see a bowl sitting in the waiting room for patients, and their loved ones/caretakers, where they receive chemo treatment (in ANY hospital, USA)

Food pantries where struggling families come to get donated food. The rocks could be given to people when they drop off the donations and to the recipients when they pick up their food.
What a wonderful idea Kim, I'll send an email with ideas soon.

Rock on!!!!!
They'd be nice in a therapists office as well.
Love the idea of the little kids using them...so many in dentists offices too.
kim, what a great move on your part. we have seen what a difference a word or two can make. toni is still giving rocks to her young patients and they love it even those who are unable to read. you just have to tell them what it says! xxoo lyle
oh kim...
you are the best !
i would love to have some rocks sent to my old casa office in indiana where the advocates could pick one to take with their case file and upon meeting their "child" could break the ice, with a friendship/message rock....
this would especially great for the middle school and high school aged kids....
you are too amazing !
oh and locally....i would take them to the boys and girls club where i volunteered and where i think i'll be taking senior photos for free.....we're still working on that :)
Just yesterday, my little granddaughter was pulling a thread on a blanket while she watched Curious George. I handed her 2 of your rocks and told her what they said (she's 3 years old) and asked her to feel them and not pull on the thread. She loved them! My son was impressed at how I handled the situation. I used to be a high school librarian-they would be perfect for the teens I used to help. So many of them need these positive messages. I visit a fellow in a residential care facility once a week. I will take one to him. Looks like it is about time to order more! (Sorry for the long comment, this is just so wonderful to me).
You are making a difference in people's lives. What a completely cool thing. Love it!!
just a note to let you know that when my B&B was up and running, I placed them in interesting places, like near the guest coffee pot, nightstand, and even bathroom shelf!I kept a bowl in the common room and watched guests sort thru them! I love the love. You are such a Big Heart Walking!
This is just so cool, and so well deserved! I am loving all the good things that are happening in your world. Your rocks have a special place in my art room. Much love, my friend!
i would happily
have a bowl of them
set out in my office
for my clients to choose from
when they need one!!!
what would you recommend
i write with?

You truly are the Rock Fairy, Kim! Look at all the loving kindness you're spreading around. It just goes to show you that wonderful things can happen when you do something with a full heart.
As for where to put them, what about gardens and flower pots? Could you imagine coming outside to water your plants one morning and finding one of your rocks?
wow, love all this.
WOWOW!! Congrats on spreading the love. I think I'd love some on my desk at work for my student appointments.
fantastic!!!!! I love your rock messages.
Perhaps one day we'll meet to gather rocks of love.
What a great idea! I would love to give these out at my next vision board retreat. They'd be encouraging words that would help to create and inspire.
I needed a quick and easy adventure for my granddaughter so we went rock hunting. Then the rock hunting became rock painting. Then my daughter got involved. And now we can't stop. Thank you for the inspiration. I think it is great that your rocks are being displayed and used everywhere. You are such an inspiration.
