Happy Tuesday, Beautiful Ones !
Monday Morning…bright and sunny.
I am feeling really energized which is a rare thing on a Monday morning in November !
I had a nice slow weekend so maybe that is why.
I spent some time yesterday setting up my dining room table with all my West High School Friends of the Theatre Knights Craft Fair goodies.
A dress rehearsal for next Saturday, December 4th, if you will…
I am feeling pretty good about how things look and what I have to sell.
Magnets, stuffed birds, stuffed “Star Shine” stars, paper Christmas ornaments, some jewelry pieces including rings and necklaces, and cards with my art on them.
And of course, you know the Rock My World rocks will make an appearance. I will be offering these as little gifts to Craft Fair shoppers…
A little bit more tweaking and some help from my friends, David and my pal Suzanne from Montreal, and the sale should be a success. Whatever doesn’t sell next Saturday will come up to Montreal with me next week so my Number 1 Salesperson, my Mom, can help me earn some more $$ for my own Christmas gift giving.
I am hoping that the good energy that I have today lasts through the week and maybe, gasp, even through the holidays ?!
Here’s some cute/funny pics of my Furry Kiddos this morning…
Azzy, so handsome. Little Boo, who is as crazy as he looks. My Chica-Lu-lu,
who just celebrated her 7th birthday, looking like a sweet puppy.
Love those critters!
I hope your Monday is full of good energy, Lovely Ones !
Big Love !
Clothes worn with bright scarves,
My cat, my India Ink,
That’s my Black Friday.
(Looking for Love – Art journal page from 2009 – nice ink work, Kimbo !)
There will be no shopping for me today.
Instead, a nice sleep in and a cozy, rainy day with my sweet Man, lounging, reading, maybe playing with the India Ink a little…
Still giving thanks for simple joys over here…
Big Love to you, Beautiful Ones!

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate this day !

for one another and for the abundance of life’s good things that we share.
And also remember that

life,
precious life.
Yesterday was a good day.
It was grey again but there was a light shining around me somehow that made things all fall into place.
I lived a really good day.
It started with a little craftiness. I was going to lunch with my new Gal Pal Susie Riley. She has a thing (like I do !) for the silly Geico commercial with the little pig going wee…wee…wee all the way home.
Cracks me up every time !!!
Well, my sweet hubby David, knowing of Susie’s love for said commercial, suggested that I should make Miss Susie a pinwheel as a fun thing to do that would make her smile.
I loved the idea !
I looked up some instructions (it has been a long while since I made a pinwheel!) and got out some pretty orange paper (Susie seems like an orange to me – bright and full of energy) and created a little giftie for my new friend.
Then I headed out to the hairdresser to get the do redone. I had a great time with Deb, my hairdresser. She is a sweet, really positive person and she have me the best scalp massage…oh, Lordy, it was good…
She has decided she would like to have a little bowl of Rock My World rocks at the salon so she can share the love with her clients.
We are going to make it so.
Here is a self-portrait as I left the salon on my way to meet up with Susie Riley in Concord, NH.
Though it was gloomy and grey outside,
Susie and I had a cozy and bright lunch at the Barley House restaurant.
We laughed and joked with our lovely waitress, Amanda, who was very envious of Susie’s pinwheel but who felt better when I let her choose a Rock My World rock of her own.
Amanda’s rock said “Embrace the Unknown”…and she did !
(Amanda was warned that her photo may end up on my blog and she was fine with that ! She is a photographer herself. Love those Creative Types !)
Susie had bought a brand new point and shoot camera that morning. Guess what ? It was the exact same one I got for my BD in October – a Canon Cybershot !
Susie taking a picture of me taking a picture.
We had a chatty, giggly lunch, followed by some lovely shopping in cute little stores on Main Street in Concord.
When it started to rain, we headed back to the Barley House for a beer and were joined by Susie’s hubby, Rick, who works close by.
I have to say that Susie and Rick are really good people, and I am really enjoying getting to know them.
I truly love Miss Susie. She is a fun, ballsy, positive, life-lover with a huge heart and a quick, quick smile and a soul-warming laugh. Plus she is frickin’ hilarious !
She, of course, loved her pinwheel gift !
Rick may have been very glad that it was raining out when we left each other so that it couldn’t be stuck out the window to blow in the breeze.
But I know that both of our cars were filled with the sound of happy little piggies
going “weee..weee…whe…wheeeeeee !” all the way home !
I lived a good day.
I am so very grateful for this life and every precious moment of love and connection that I experience.
Life’s is good, Beautiful Ones ! Live it up today, okay ?
Big Love to you !

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...it is grey. The color of the end of November, leaves gone, branches bare, roofs and building wall showing, clouds in the sky…grey.
I am thinking...about how much color affects my mood…I have to be good about keeping the brights around me as the grey season goes on, I think.
I am thankful for...red, yellow, orange, green, purple, blue and turquoise. Grey, not so much.
From the learning rooms (known as Google in this case) the difference between affect and effect which was part of a brain fart this morning…
From the kitchen...recipes for Gluten Free Pumpkin Cheesecake which I am bringing to the Father-in-Law’s on Thursday – my sister-in-law was just diagnosed with Celiac Disease and while I won’t do the stuffing without bread crumbs, I sure can find a way to make sure she gets a sweet dessert !
I am wearing...grey (yikes!) pajama bottoms, a plum colored long sleeve t-shirt and my slippers (okay, my old, very, very beat up green El Naturalista clogs…)
I am creating... packages of notecards of my art work as gifts for the people in my Mom’s office – a contract from my lovely boss’s wife, Lottie. Profits from these will help me with my own Christmas gift giving ! Thanks, Lottie !
I am going...to stay home today and hang out in the studio, until Meditation Class tonight. Yay !
I am reading...nothing much really. Too ready for sleep when I hit the pillow to read. If you know of a really good book with a good story, funny, endearing, poignant and/or romantic without too much violence or horror stories of overcoming suffering, please let me know ! I will stay awake for that !
I am hoping...that all the Christmas gifties that I sent out last week to my Canadian Chickie friends arrive in good condition. December is next week. Crazy !!!!
(the packages for my Canadian Chickies – I am Day 9 – the gift is still a surprise !)
I am hearing...Azzy Cat purrs from behind me on the chair. We just finished a little lovefest of neck rubbing. His neck, my job to rub.
Around the house...quiet…greyish…Monday.
One of my favorite things...watching Azzy and Little Boo chase the new catnip Loofah Mouse I got them from Petco all around the house. I love it when the older guy, Azzy, really gets into it like a little kitten! Love my furry kiddos !
(Azzy and Little Boo do lunch.)
A few plans for the rest of the week: Meditation tonight, haircut tomorrow am, lunch with my newest girlfriend, the sassy, hilarious Susie Riley on Tuesday at noon and then, the Thanksgiving prep.begins on Wednesday. David and I will join his other 4 bros and their significant others at the Father-in-Law’s place on Thursday for the festivities.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing…
Blue Moon Shot form last night, November 21, 2010.
I love that the left over leaves on the bare branches look like upside down hearts…
Okay, I am off to fill the studio with some color and some happy tunes on this grey and quiet Monday am.
Happy Monday, Beautiful Ones !
I love you, my IT man.
Thank you for our joy-filled life.

Funny how things can change in one day, in one moment even…
Yesterday started of being all about anger.
As a person who is working really hard to make kindness her religion,
to walk her own talk,
anger is a hard one for me !
But I saw it through,
I journaled it,
I danced it out,
I felt it instead of reacted to it,
and now it is 95% gone and mostly peacefully resolved.
I am pretty happy with myself for that.
Now today, is all about JOY !
That one I can handle !
Meri at Meri’s Musings did a post about it, and will be celebrating it each Thursday now in a Share the Joy post.
I visited several other blogs that were all about noticing the small graces in life and celebrating them…(click on colored words for links)
and was inspired to celebrate my own joys today.
A library book card pocket set the stage for my journal page today…
My Joy Library…
with a sweet little spot for a card with a list
whenever I need to put one in or take one out and re-read it.
As I wrote the list today, I realized I could have filled many, many cards with things that bring me joy.
I think that is because once you start celebrating the simple graces and joys in life,
they seem to multiply and more and more of them jump out at you for their turn in the light.
Looking forward to filling up my Joy Library.
Life is so precious, my Beautiful Ones.
Let’s celebrate that.
Happy Thursday !
"Life's not about waiting for the storms to pass...
It's about learning to dance in the rain."
~Vivian Greene
Next time you're mad, try dancing out your anger. ~Terri Guillemets
It takes an athlete to dance, but an artist to be a dancer. ~Shanna LaFleur
What happened to the girl, I used to known
You let your mind out somewhere down the road
Don't bring me down, no no no no no
I'll tell you once more
Before I get off the floor
Don't bring me down – Jeff Lynn
"Now is the time on Sprockets vhen ve dance! – Mike Myers
Phew…
That’s better.
Happy Wednesday.
Today’s art journal page…
“Fear can burst your bubble before you even blow it.”
When I did yesterday’s page, I didn’t think this would become a two page spread of sorts but it has…
I even got confirmation from the Rocks…
on which way to go.
Move over Ms.Fear !
The angels and I have work to do…
This morning on Facebook, Patti Digh’s status read “Today I am practicing giving up my need to be right. What are you practicing today?”.
My response :
“I am practicing doing have-to's with a want-to attitude.”
That was what came to me in the moment but you know what ?
I lied !
I am actually practicing ignoring the have-to’s and doing the want to’s instead !!!
Hence two blissful hours of art journal painting instead of running Monday morning errands or even getting dressed.
I created the page above inspired my the Alexi Murdoch song that I love.
(Okay, mostly bliss – I got lost in not liking my piece for about half that time, but it turned around eventually!)
And know what else ?
I think I am really good at leaving the have-to’s aside…
Maybe even a little too good sometimes…
Maybe I need to practice something else ?
Hmmmm…
Okay, okay…
The have-to’s await…
Happy Monday, Marvelous Ones !
