August Break Final Prompt for 2014 : LOVE !

I have loved doing this challenge !

Even if I didn’t quite complete every prompt,

I managed to blog a lot more this month than I have in a long time.

And it was fun being challenged by photo prompts everyday.

Today’s prompt of Love was easy !

David and I headed to our favorite place, the beach, and played like two silver fish in the Gulf Of Mexico.

Love on lots of levels!

Grace in little things

Little, littler, littlest…

August Break Prompt : “Little”

Okay, I got a bit behind with August Break.

Thought about it everyday

but have really just be soaking in

the heart time

with my brilliant, beautiful, fun and funny niece Jessica.

We are beach bound as much as possible

and loving it !

 

But as Susannah says, we’re in the home stretch with this challenge.

Going to try and get back in line.

But still enjoy my time with Jess

to the fullest !

She’s a real Treasure !

I am getting things ready for my lovely niece Jessica’s visit.

She arrives late, late, late tomorrow night.

She will be the first visitor to use our mostly completed guest room.

I like to have a special altar-ish place in the guest room.

I have included a basket of goodies, tea, shampoo, bath things

and I also like to place a carefully thought out bowl of treasures for my guest to enjoy.

As I wandered the house picking up little bits from here and there,

I looked down at the little plate I was using and this face just kind of appeared.

I will admit to placing things just a little, but those two eyes (the glass feet of the plate ), the coral lips and nose, and that pink cheek just fell into place themselves !

I’m calling her “Treasure”, which is the prompt today for the August Break challenge.

Here, I played a little bit with Pixlr Express editing.

Ain’t she sweet ?

This is the little plate filled with some pretty things and sweet messages

that my darling girl will see when she gets here!

Today’s August Break Prompt : Peace

Nothing more peaceful than my beach.

It was a beautiful visit.

Quiet.

Not too windy.

Deliciously warm water.

Nature’s artwork all around me.

Yup.

Peace.

Life in Black and White

I missed one day of the August Break challenge.

The prompt was “jump” but since I was alone most of the day yesterday, no jumping and no capturing of jumps happened.

Today’s prompt is “Black and White”

 

The kitties look good in any color but what I love most about them in black and white is their whiskers !

I love this shot of Happy too.

My beautiful little Buddha statue that my sweet David bought for me as a surprise after I had told him about falling in love with it at Pier One Imports.

He makes me happy every day.

And the statue does too.

Hee !

Loving this August day.

And excited about having my niece Jessica coming in three days !

Life is good in FLA.

What’s on your shelf ?

August Break Prompt : Bookshelf

One of my favorite book shelves in my studio.

It had 4 of my completed art journals on it. Probably 5 of the things I would grab and bring with me in case of emergency, after the cats and dog are safe.

Along with my lap top.

And maybe a tube or two of Golden paint.

That stuff is pricey, you know !

A sweet Gathering…

I got my brave on and contacted some Digh-Hard friends from my area of Florida and asked them to meet up for lunch today.

I made some gifts to tell them how excited I was to have them close by.

I drove off this morning, heading from Apollo Beach to Pass-a-grille,

looking at these…

But by the time I got to the beautiful strip of land jutting into the Gulf of Mexico,

The clouds were a little less ominous.

And just perfect for an afternoon of hanging out.

A delicious lunch at Sea Critters and a glass of Sangria

were the icing on the cake of a sweet gathering.

Lynne, Maria, Frankie and I felt like new friends who had known each other for a long time.

Doesn’t make sense but that’s how it felt.

Really comfortable and fun !

We had the waitress take this pic wishing Patti a happy birthday today!

She is the one who brought us all together !

A visit to a local gallery,

and some key lime pie on the upper deck of the Brass Monkey

kept us sheltered from the spitting rain

and let us have some more girl talk.

Being Brave makes for some pretty pictures!

Even our feet look good together when we posed for this “Looking Down” prompt shot for August Break!

Good Morning, Blue.

August Break Prompt : Blue

No blues skies in Apollo Beach today.

Big boomers and close lightening strikes have been the order of the day since about 5:00am.

Finding other ways to let the sun shine through.

Tomorrow, meeting up with three new potential girlfriends !

I reached out to some fellow Patti Digh-Hards, as my hubby calls them, Facebook friends who leave relatively close by,

and asked them to meet me for lunch.

Needing new tribe members here in FL !

We meet in St. Pete’s tomorrow.

A little nervous and a lot excited.

Proud of my brave self.

Hand Prints and Heart Prints

Baby Jayden’s hand print at two months old.

He is printed on my heart forever.

Grow well and strong, Dear Little One.

I miss you and love you so much !

 

(Jayden is living with his mom, our niece Amanda, back in NH. They are doing ok. He is a healthy, energetic and loving 9 month old now. We get regular news, photos and videos of the little guy which we love receiving. I will be forever grateful to have been part of his world every day for the first four months of his life. Love you, Little Buggy.)
