Boo, black and white and shiny all over…

Boo, my oh so black black kitty cat,

came to visit in the studio as I sat down to lose myself in doodles today.

It would seem that since I was working in black and white

IMG_7293IMG_7295IMG_7296

he thought that his blackness would be of help to me.

The black was inspiring, but the chewing on my pen and the lying down on my page was not.

In spite of Boo’s help,

this little black and white doodle emerged.

As I was doodling, I was listening to Pandora radio.

I was suddenly filled with thoughts of my friend Joe Spado who passed recently.

This favorite song of mine by David Gray came on the radio at that moment.

I wrote a note to Joe on his Facebook page.

I saw that some other friends and family are still writing to him there as well.

He is no longer here in the physical world,

but oh how I could feel his bright spirit shine today.

Sending love and peace out there to you and yours, my friend Joe.

Shine on, Man.

Today is Tuesday Treasures

Today is Tuesday.

Today, lots of things popped into my world to be shared.

So here they are :

Today’s Quote :

“It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

(Re-read that a few times. I did.)

Today’s Rock :

magichour

“Help” as in “I need help”, or “help” as in “the help I need  is here”…?

Today’s Song :

I loves me some Jason Mraz.

His new album is coming out in April. This song is on it.

The title ?

Love is a Four Letter Word”.

Yes, Jason, yes.

Today’s Art Journal Page:

Silly pillow pictures of me taken with my IPhone Photobooth App.

They were printed out on David’s laser printer on regular photocopy paper.

Wirelessly.

Technology rocks !

Today’s Art Supply of Choice :

BIC Wite-Out Shake -N Squeeze Correction Pen, White

BIC Wite-Out Shake -N Squeeze Correction Pen, White

Kind of stinky but great for adding bold white lines on top of whatever you have on the page, or serving as a resist. And it dries very quickly.

Thanks to Traci Bautista for teaching me about this tool.

All of these little treasures came to me this morning to help me start my day.

Happy to be able to share them with you in the hopes that they make your day shimmer a little brighter too.

Big love, Beautiful Ones !

"Let me peer out at the world
through your lens. (Maybe I'll shudder,
or gasp, or tilt my head in a question.)
Let me see how your blue
is my turquoise and my orange
is your gold. Suddenly binary
stars, we have startling
gravity. Let's compare
scintillation - let's share
starlight."

Bringing the Color Back…

DSC03383 - Copy

I woke up feeling unlike my usual colorful self.

I even had some company in my “paint it black” mood.

DSC03421 - Copy

A big, noisy black crow cawing away outside the studio window.

DSC03425 - Copy

It took me a minute or two to figure out what he was cawing at…

DSC03426 - Copy

Little Black Boo was hanging in the window, having a staring contest with the big black bird.

Or perhaps the Crow had a message for me.

That’s the significance of the Crow paying you a visit, you know.

Maybe the message was get out of your black mood by turning to what you love and to the color in your world.

That’s how I interpreted it, anyway.

Here’s what I did :

DSC03434 - Copy

I took a few minutes to be creative and packaged up Lisa’s Creative Sistahs Swap Sketchbook for Jennifer. It was the first time I had gluey fingers in a few weeks !

Then I packaged up some Rock My World orders to bring to the post office today.

I also filled my new Rock Fairy pouch that I bought on my sweet outing with my friend the Bodhi Chicklet a few weeks ago.

DSC03437 - Copy

It came from a store called Ten Thousand Villages in Pointe Claire, Quebec. They sell free trade items and help international artisans make money from their artwork.

DSC03439 - Copy

This beautiful embroidered pouch was only $5.00 and is perfect to keep a supply of rocks in my purse for anytime use !

This afternoon, I am headed to my friend Patti’s poolside paradise for some girl friend time.

That is sure to bring my color back, right ?

DSC03383 - Copy

This song was playing in my head all morning after the visit from Messenger Crow.

I love this version.

I hope you have a colorful Tuesday, Beautiful Ones!

Big Love !
