Ready, Set, Go and an Etsy Shop Full

The Queen is on the move again !

My craft fair is done.

The results were not as good money-wise as I would have liked but David and I had a lot of fun with the people we met all day. We rocked it !

Now that all of that hard work is done, I am off to get some big LOVING

from some of my favorite kiddos on the planet !

Katie, Thomas and I have a date with some arts and crafts and some Christmas decorating at their house !

David will be home, taking care of the furry kids and manning the home front.

He will also be helping me out by filling any orders that come in from the Queen of Arts Studio Etsy shop.

I just added some new goodies to the shop today.

These sweet hand made clay ornaments

can reach you before the holidays and would be lovely on the tree or on a wrapped gift.

The same goes for my own favorites, theses paper love birds,

hand cut from an old French encyclopedia.

Also, some of you have been asking about having cards available with some of my original art pieces.

I have added some new ones into the shop

in both note card (4X5” on cardstock cards) and postcard format (4X6” in cello envelop ready for a note and and stamp to mail!)

And of course, bags of 13 Rock My World rocks are always available, if you want to make a special gift of them over the holiday season for someone who needs them !

So take a little peek in the Queen of Arts Studio shop if you are still working on completing that shopping list. My sweet Hubby Elf will get your order out asap !

Riding the wave…

This week has flown by.

Most of it was spent in the preparation for the Manchester West High School Theatre Knights Holiday Craft Fair that is taking place on Saturday, December 3rd from 9-3pm.

It has been a joy to see ideas,

like pieces of wet clay,

get formed into things I am proud to put my name on…

While crafty things that will sell well at a craft fair don’t provide the same Soul satisfying feeling as my more intuitive art does,

there is still a lot of joy in seeing my own personal style and artistic expression

shine through in everything I present.

I am also very happy that the craft fair I choose to participate in is a fund raiser that helps keep the theatre program at Manchester West High School flourishing.

I know the importance of keeping the Arts in our schools !

While most of my time has been spent with my nose to the grind stone,

True Artist Kim did come out to play for a bit.

I took about an hour and a half or so to create this page in my art journal yesterday.

Finding joy in the present moment is what it is all about.

It’s Monday Morning, and I ‘m Feelin’ Fine…

Monday Morning…bright and sunny.

I am feeling really energized which is a rare thing on a Monday morning in November !

I had a nice slow weekend so maybe that is why.

I spent some time yesterday setting up my dining room table with all my West High School Friends of the Theatre Knights Craft Fair goodies.

A dress rehearsal for next Saturday, December 4th, if you will…

I am feeling pretty good about how things look and what I have to sell.

Magnets, stuffed birds, stuffed “Star Shine” stars, paper Christmas ornaments, some jewelry pieces including rings and necklaces, and cards with my art on them.

And of course, you know the Rock My World rocks will make an appearance. I will be offering these as little gifts to Craft Fair shoppers…

A little bit more tweaking and some help from my friends, David and my pal Suzanne from Montreal, and the sale should be a success. Whatever doesn’t sell next Saturday will come up to Montreal with me next week so my Number 1 Salesperson, my Mom, can help me earn some more $$ for my own Christmas gift giving.

I am hoping that the good energy that I have today lasts through the week and maybe, gasp, even through the holidays ?!

Rediscovering…

I have my issues with anxiety. I think it is part of being an ultra sensitive person in this world with so much crazy, hard stuff surrounding us.

Anyway, anxiety sometimes gets the better of me, especially at the more hormonal time of the month.

For the last month or so, there has been so much good stuff in my life, I am utterly and completely blown away.

That is why when anxiety gets too intense when life is good, I get really, really pissed off !

Which, believe it or not, doesn’t help !

But yesterday, I realized that I had kind of let go of one of my very best tools for dealing with anxiety.

I HAVE NOT BEEN WORKING/PLAYING IN MY ART JOURNAL !!!!

Dumb-dumb girl!

David had suggested I do some meditation to help my anxiety. Sometimes that is a good thing, but not when the crazy bug in my head is too out of control ! That passive activity doesn’t work when I feel like I am jumping out of my skin.

But then I was suddenly drawn to shove all my “crafty” crafty fair stuff out of the way and  get out my journal and make ART instead…

Ahhhhh, that feels so much better….

I am telling you, for the few hours involved in making these pages over the last two days, the anxiety was gone. Present in the present moment, looking for colors, texture, composition, connection, my mind is quietly focused on what is right before me…
