Seaside Sunday…

So after the crazy April Fool’s Day snow, we got this magnificent day in the 50’s on Sunday.

It was very windy but I just felt the need to hit the beach and visit my favorite ocean.

One thing I love about North Beach in Hampton Beach, NH is that it is Rock Fairy heaven !

The rocks get rolled around by the waves at high tide and the sounds of it is like laughter.

Like the rocks are playing with the waves and laughing.

You can hear it her, in spite of the wind…

Sometimes, I make rock statues with the gorgeous smooth stones on my beach and leave them behind for the tide.

Yesterday, I continued with the angel making and left this on a huge cement block by the seawall.

I added a little Rock Fairy love to it as well.

It was almost high tide when I arrived at the beach,

which means that there is no sand to walk on on my rocky hang out.

That’s just fine though.

I was able to sit, breathe, listen to the rhythm of those magnificent waves playing with my rock friends and have some moments of peace that I can only get there.

That place fills me up.

It’s only fair that I leave a little bit of my love behind when I leave…

My Sunday morning also involved some art-making at home.

My postcards for the Postcard Swap hosted by Hanna are almost ready to go.

I really enjoyed working on them in the morning sunlight yesterday.

This is one that I really love :

hopepostcard

I actually used bits from a colored photocopy of a page from my art journal from 2009.

P3170020

I had made color copies of a lot of my pages for some class or something and never really used them until recently. It is really fun to use bits of your own work to create something new !

I recommend that you visit your local copying place with your journal and color copy some of your favorite pages. Then you can revisit and re-use stuff that is uniquely yours in other pieces !

I hope you have a great Monday, Beautiful Ones !

Big Love !

Just a little piece of heaven to listen to the sound of the waves...one of my favourite sounds in the world...I could sit for hours and just stare at the water.

I love the little drops of love you left on the sea wall...and can only imagine the smiles on the faces of the people who come upon them!!

WOW, so creative My Queen. New work from old. Rock sculptures on the beach with your message rocks too. And the first video I have seen of you!!! Moving pictures and sound too...how great!

I am so used to associating beaches with warmth, so it's interesting seeing a cold beach in NH to realize the different ways the sea can be.

I hope you have a wonderful week, xoO

Oh, how I miss the ocean!!! I loved your post, as I could almost smell the salty sea air! Fresh air! I love how you leave behind little "gifts" for the next beach visitors :-)

You know how to brighten someone's day :-)

A friend of mine who lives in Maine describes the sea rushing through the rocks as applause. She is a self-described queen. Bravo to the two of you, rock fairies and sea swells. I will listen to the sound over and over.

Your beach looks like a nice place to be at any time. Low tide, high tide.
I often visit a rocky beach on the Great Lake Superior. Same smooth rounded edged rocks. I have seen where some have left piles, (Inukshuks?), but there is no tide that takes them. Lake Superior has a tide, but it is only three or four inches. Yet the lake is so vast that you cannot see the other side.
Each rock was a mountain, so was each grain of sand. They weather away in wind and the natural tumbling in the water. Each rock, each grain has seen all that mankind has done. They have witnessed it all and have all the knowledge. We learn from them. They speak to me and it seems they speak to you as well. And hey, you make them speak to others! Very Cool!
I like the cards. Using my own creations to create something else? I wonder if I can. I'll try, but first to get something finished in the first place. I'm busy now, but not getting anything done because I come to blogs and look and see and write.
Good stuff here.

Peace

Ahhh, your post made me homesick! I can't wait to visit my parents/hometown and stroll along the seaside too! (Yep, I was born behind the dunes...) Your cards are wonderful! I recently started to use pieces of my own (copied) work as borders. It is indeed fun to re-use your own art!

I love your little rock fairies! Next time I go to the beach I'm going to create some fun rock sculptures on this side of the 'street" in California!!!
