I’ll sit with you.

  Loving Florida in many ways.

But not so in love with all the creepy crawlies !

IMG_1572

Last week I swam in my friend Sherri’s pool with a Python.

Okay, I’m totally exaggerating!

It was just a 10” black snake with red and yellow lines on his head.

But he moved very fast and gave me heebie jeebies big time.

Now we have these locusts!

Okay, just mega grasshoppers, but they are the size of a little girl’s hand !

Thank God for screens !

Still, this Florida life is a sweet one.

IMG_1571

I found this sweet quote on pinterest or facebook.

(sorry to the creator of this image – I was unable to retrace my steps.)

I just love it.

Can’t always see the bright side in some moments.

I love the idea of a friend just sitting by until the light returns.

Because it always does, doesn’t it ?

I think the quote may have been influencing my journal page today.

IMG_1558[1]This pretty sea of turquoise blue

IMG_1575

became a bit of a dark garden.

IMG_1576

The BEings look a little concerned or worried.

IMG_1577   But at least

IMG_1578

they have each other…

IMG_1579

to sit with until the light returns.

It feels really good to be playing in the journal right now.

There is an upcoming trip to Canada that will probably interrupt the newly re-established routine,

but in the not so mean time,

I’m enjoying the flow.

I hope you have creative flow and lots of peace this weekend, Beautiful Ones.

Big love !

Share the Joy Thursday – It’s all Around You

An Early Morning Conversation at The Yellow House on Orange Street

“Where are you going ?” he says,

puzzled by why she is headed out the door before her morning cup of coffee is done.

“It is Share the Joy Thursday. I am going to find joy.” she says.

IMG_1439

Morning light on a steamy June morning.

79 degrees at 7:00am.

IMG_1425

Light dancing with the clematis.

I see a happy face. Do you ?

IMG_1436

IMG_1435

Joining in the light and shadow play.

IMG_1437

With one of my first blooms of sweet, sweet lavender.

IMG_1434

Orange sandals on the grass.

I have these in red too.

Yes, I am a shoe whore.

But they bring me such joy !

Winking smile

She re-enters the house.

“Did you find joy ?” he asks.

“Oh, yes”, she replies, “She is so very easy to find around here.”

IMG_1432

Indoors and out !

Meet Uta, David’s tiny piggy bank,

from the Goodwill store that had to come home the other day with us for $1.99.

Where does she get her name ?

IMG_1433

The fact that my man is still able to be child-like in his joy

is one of the many things I adore about him.

IMG_1438

The fact that he has the muscle to install these and

keep me from whining about the heat is an added bonus !

May the joy be abundant in your neck of the woods as well today !

Big Love, Beautiful Ones !

Share the Joy Thursday–Right in my own backyard

Some of the things on this weeks Joy List come from my very own back yard !

There were some lovely messages from some of the plants back there as well as such joy in spending time with that incredible green growing !!!

IMG_1007

The elephant ear hosta, sent me some messages as I watched it basking in the morning sun!

IMG_1012

Look at the size of these incredible leaves !

IMG_1008

Talk about Living Big in the present moment!

A month ago, it was a small tuber in the ground and now it is bursting with life and power.

Wowza !

What would my life look like if I took on the hosta challenge ?

Hmmm…

IMG_1014

Then there was another message of the glorious lupine leaves.

IMG_1006

Their leaves are as beautiful as a flower !

The message I received from them is to

IMG_1009

yourself just as you are in this moment.

Don’t wait for the big bloom to shower yourself with appreciation.

You are remarkable just as you are today.

Mmmm, that feels good.

Winking smile

Cutting a sweet blossom from the Chica Bush also brought me some joy this morning.

We have this very pretty bush at the end of the driveway and we have no idea what it is really called. It blooms with these sweet white/pink trumpets every spring and on into the summer.

Way back when, before we fenced in our back yard, Chica used to be tied near that bush to do her business.

And whenever she could, she would chew on its branches as if it were the sweetest candy !

Hence the name “Chica Bush”.

Luckily, Chica now has full rights to the whole back yard and the bush has now become full and healthy again.

IMG_1010

I brought some joy into the studio and put it in a sweet vase that reminds me of my friend, Bethie.

Hmmm, look-y here !

I guess this is the message for today from the back yard of the Yellow House on Orange Street.

Not a bad one at all !

Happy Thursday, Beautiful Ones !

Check out the amazing light and detail in this shot taken way down low and with no photo-editing other than putting a frame around it.

I wish you has smell-o-vision on your screen ! The lily of the valley is so sweeeeeet !

And then there is some awesome inspired art time…

IMG_0776

Yesterday, I lost myself in making this page in my journal.

So lost in fact that when I surfaced, I realized I was still in my pjs with bedhead and due to meet Lois for lunch in about 25 minutes! I was a little late !

This page was inspired by the incredible posts that Lisa at Life Unity has been sharing the past little while.

Some of them have gone really deeply in for me.

Lisa is a beautiful thinker and a glorious and loving Heart. And I love the food for my Soul that she provides.

IMG_0777

She made me appreciate and see the truth in my recent choice and desire to keep focused on my “World Work” on this planet.

It is what I am here for and I know it in my deep down Soul.

Love is the answer to every question

and sending more of it out into the world is the work I am here to do.

*********************

So not a bad week in the Joy department, wouldn’t you say?

Also in there were sweet moments spent with some good friends, lots of laughter with the hubby and the delivery of a new and very needed fridge.

I am so very blessed !

I hope you find lots of things to add to your joy list this week.

Much love !

What blooming ?

lisa-june

This is my piece for my Sisterhood of the Traveling Sketchbook project for the month of June.

I was lucky enough to contribute something for the gorgeous book that Lisa from Priti Studio created.

I was inspired by what is going on in my very own garden this month.

My piece didn’t do it justice at all but look at this :

DSC03183

Isn’t she magnificent ?

DSC03182

I think that this Seashell Peony is the most beautiful flower in my whole garden.

Those soft pink petals with the frayed edges…

and that center with a riot of chaotic pistels in bright yellow…

DSC03189

and that mysterious bit of red, deep down in the heart of the flower…

DSC03186

So beautiful.

So June is Peony Month for me.

And a celebration of this beautiful bloom…

DSC03185

What blooms are you celebrating, Beautiful Ones ?

Big Love to you !
