Share the Joy Thursday–Virginia Beach 2011 Edition

David and I are happily enjoying our spring vacation in Virginia Beach.

The weather has been a real treat, warmer and sunnier than expected.

I am so enjoying soaking up the Vitamin D, and the awesome sights and sounds…

Like the sunrise view from our room, captured with awe early on our first morning…

or how magnificent the pier looks from the balcony, even in a batch of cloudy skies…

And the constant, soothing sound of those waves breaking, breaking, breaking…

And the every changing horizon of sky meeting the ocean.

So many postcard moments playing out before us.

Then there are other things that just make you smile.

Like these rebels…

hitting the surf regardless of the possible consequences.

right in front of the warning sign…

Or how the seagulls all come in for a landing in the evening, and hang out on the sand, all facing the same way…

Or the absolute thrill of seeing dolphins play right where the waves break on the beach in front of you…

(Insert photo here, later, when I catch them with my camera

instead of just giggling like a little girl as I watch them. Winking smile)

Plus you know the old advertising campaign had it right….

Virginia is for Lovers…

And my man and me,

we do vacations right.

So beautiful, Kim. You, your love, the ocean, the sky--all of it. Something about being close to such a huge body of water just smooths out the soul, doesn't it?

LOVE your photos Kim! What a beautiful place to vacation... *sighs* and the romance! Awww... thanks so much for sharing.

The best bit? That pic of the seagulls all facing the same way - as if they've been hypnotised or something!! =)
