Haiku My Heart–Altar of my Heart

Dear bits and pieces

Gathered along the journey

Altar of my Heart

This week seems to have been gathering intensity every day.

Perhaps because of the blue moon tonight ?

Whatever the reason, finding moments of stillness and peace has been a challenge.

One thing that worked beautifully was taking time to recreate my altar in my studio.

New space, new items, and some old things revisited.

The act of placing each item brings a calm I appreciate.

The end result is like a deep cleansing breath.

In this world of go-go-go, do-do-do, and the rush to finish,

taking quiet moments to feed the spirit is so essential.

I am grateful for my little Altar of the Heart.

Happy Friday, Beautiful Ones !

I hope you get to celebrate this long Labor Day weekend

with some good rest for the weary soul !

Soul Treats

Taking a little blog break to enjoy the last bits of summer 2012.

This will include putting my feet in the sand and sea here at home today.

Tomorrow, I will be traveling to my cottage north of Montreal for a weekend with my sweet sisters and some swimming in the magical waters of Lac Bibitte.

The weekend will also include hugging and smooching a 3 month old baby Anderson, and some time with his mom and his dad.

And finally, a visit with my beautiful artist friend, e.b., which is an incredible Soul treat  that is sure to fill me up some more.

Be good to yourselves, Beautiful Ones !

Love and light !

Listen to your Longing…

I have been kind of waiting

to get back into my art journal practice.

Waiting until I had more time.

Waiting until I finished all my Rock Fairy orders.

Waiting and also of yearning and longing.

This morning,

Sunday morning,

I decided to take some of the advice the Universe has been sending my way.

What if this was your one day ?

What are you really waiting for ?

Live your life as if…

Do it now.

I took the advice and dove in…

Using Tattered Angel Glitter Mists, sepia ink with a dip pen, bits of silk sari scraps and my creative juices,

out came this three page spread in a 16 page journal made from Teesha Moore’s technique.

Doodles, and my own play on this quote “Let your Life be A Poem” from Patti Digh.

Eucalyptus leaves as masks then doodled over…

A poem to my Self.

New seeds planted and growing.

It feels good to belong to myself just a little bit more.

Happy Sunday, Beautiful Ones !

Haiku My Heart–Color Me Lime Green

My Lime Green Buddha,

Content where this life puts him.

Color me lime green.

I am continuing to deepen my practice of belonging to myself.

My close to empty bucket wasn’t filled in one day.

But I am finding that this taking care of and loving on yourself stuff

really does feel pretty good.

Winking smile

Happy Friday, Beautiful Ones !

Love on your sweet Selves!

Share the Joy Thursday–Refilling the Bucket

So I find myself depleted.

depleted past participle, past tense of de·plete (Verb)

Verb: 1. Use up the supply of; exhaust the abundance of, 2.diminish in number or quantity.

Jen Louden, whose blog is called “Savor and Serve the World”, wrote this blog post entitled “Stop the cycle of over-providing”. I read it yesterday and it was one of those moments where you just know the Universe was giving you that crystal clear message you were looking for.

I am depleted from overproviding for everyone else but myself.

So today, now,

I have no choice if I want to live the one precious life the way my Soul truly wants me to live.

Today, now,

I am going to deepen my practice of belonging to myself, as Jen suggests as an antidote to this depleted feeling.

Today is going to be all about me, in the very best, super healthiest way possible.

And along the way I know I will find joy.

Take good care of you, Beautiful Ones !

Big Love !

PS : Happy Birthday to my beautiful Writer-Lady friend, Patti Digh, and also to her amazing daughter, Emma. Love and light to you both !

Today, I will be…

After a pretty rainy, extremely humid weekend,

it was a treat to wake up to dry air, cooler temps and this glorious morning light from the sun.

The first thing I noticed though, was that the sun is definitely heading into its end of summer, early fall position.

How can that be ?

August just began, right ?

Everyone I talk to remarks on how fast time is flying.

(artwork on the side of the general store in Charlotte, Vermont)

I feel it too, especially when I stop focusing on the moment in front of me, and look ahead to the future.

On this beautiful Monday morning in August,

I am going to try my best to be right here where I am,

and relish this one precious life, each and every moment of it.

Today, I will be happy =) - quotes Photo

Hear Ye, Hear Ye !!!!

As of 2:00 this afternoon, Sunday, August 12th,

less than one week since we started out,

The Rock Fairy Team

in support of Team Brilliant and the John F.Ptak Relief Fund

has completed

61 orders of 37 Days Rock My World rocks,

which includes 120 bags of 13 rocks,

for a total of 1560 rocks painted !!!!

We are up to date with all the current orders and they will all be sent out in the mail tomorrow.

Once this is done, we will be able to calculate the exact shipping costs & material costs,

and send a nice juicy donation

to the John F. Ptak Relief Fund!

David and I are beyond thrilled with this accomplishment.

It feels so very good to give from our hearts, to have some many other wonderful people join in and help out, and to know that we are all shining our love lights brightly for the awesome family of John, Patti, Emma and Tess.

Now that our well oiled rocking machine is in place, any more orders we get in support of this great cause between now and the 1st of October will be easily filled.

And by getting our donation in to the John F. Ptak Relief Fund right now, every dollar of our donation amount will be matched by a very generous anonymous donor!!!!

So if you haven’t yet given but would like to, consider purchasing a bag of 37 Days Rock My World rocks from my etsy shop or making a donation directly to the John F. Ptak Relief Fund.

Thank you, thank you, thank you

and big bright love

to all of those who have made this donation possible !

Light and love, Beautiful Ones !

PS : David Mailhot rocks big time !!!! I love us so very very much, Baby ! Thank you for all you do.

Share the Joy Thursday–Gifts to Give and Receive…

From this week’s Joy List…

Visiting the Rock Fairy’s supplier. How blessed am I that rock picking takes place at the beach ?

This cat is the softest kitty in the Universe. And she loves me !

Our beautiful Rose of Sharon plant is in full bloom.

Microfleur Max Press

My sweet hubby ordered me this very cool microwave flower press that my friend Colleen introduced me to…

so now I can preserve some of the beauty and add it into my art work !

The orders for 37 Days Rock My World rocks have been amazingly abundant ! It is a little overwhelming, in fact. I never thought it would get quite this big ! I have received orders for about 100 bags of rocks so far !

But I have a great team of people that are going to help me reach my goal to help out with the financial challenges that John and Patti are facing. My husband David is just amazing and is working as hard as I am to get this heart work done ! Thank you so much, my Hunny Bunny.

If you would like to help Patti and John as well, there is now a site organized their friends by Amy McCracken and Colleen Wainwright where you can make a financial contribution and/or leave a note of love and support.

Visit the John F. Ptak Relief Fund site.

I hope your week is full of joy, to give and to receive.

Big Love, Beautiful Ones !

Love More–For John, Patti, Emma and Tess

(37 Days Mug – Love More, a gift from Patti to David and me)

So last Wednesday night, my dear Writer Lady/Friend, Patti Digh,

received the kind of scary news that stops you in your tracks.

Her beloved Mr. Brilliant, her husband John, has cancer.

Renal Cell Carcinoma to be exact.

Finding this out was a dart straight to my heart.

I, like so many of Patti’s friends, adore John Ptak, for his humor, his incredible fathering skills, his gentle loving acts, and of course, his brilliance.

The dart was a sharper one than it might have been because

renal cancer is the disease that took my own Dad’s life, way too early,

when I was thirty and he was 53.

As scared and sad as I was when I heard this diagnosis for my friend’s Love,

I am determined to keep light, love and hope around John, Patti, Emma and Tess

as they face these challenges and come through to the other side.

Patti has a vision of returning to Tybee Island on another family vacation, with love and hope intact.

And I am going to share her vision.

So are many, man more of her friends and readers.

In fact a whole community of hearts is surrounding this sweet family,

giving love and shining bright lights on them all.

Amy McCracken, who writes the 3X3X365 blog with Patti and Kathryn, is part of a team organizing ways to help the family out.  John is uninsured, you see, so there will definitely be a need for $$ as part of the plan.

In that regard, I have made some changes to my Etsy shop.

One of the items there are 37 Days Rock My World Rocks.

From today through October 1, 2012 (and possibly longer depending on how I can keep up with the demand), I will be donating all of the price for these Rock My World rocks to John and the family, and their fight to kick this cancer to the curb asap ! That means $7.50 from each bag of 13 rocks. I will only keep the shipping fees to cover my costs.

So if you have been wanting some Rock My World rocks, now would be a wonderful time to order them. You can enjoy the rock love and also know you are helping provide some extra love and support to this awesome family.

In the mean time, please add your prayers, your love and your light to the waves heading out to John, Patti, Emma and Tess.

Love is the answer, Beautiful Ones.

This I know.

Haiku my Heart–Around and Around We go…

(Kate, August 2012, Hampton Beach, NH)

Around and around,

This merry-go-round of Life.

Enjoy the sweet ride.

This week has been filled with such joy for me!

Having my sister Kristina, her hubby John, big brother Thomas and little chickie Katie here has been wonderful ! We have had very full days in the best possible ways.

At the same time as I have been BEing where I am and soaking it all in,

part of me has been with friends who have been facing life’s hardest kinds of challenges,

sending prayers, and keeping my Heart light shining as brightly as I can for them.

Another part of me has been wishing so strongly that I could take their fears and pain away, and bring them to where I have been this week,

and keep us all there forever !

It doesn’t work that way,

no matter how much this big loving Heart of mine wishes for it!

So, instead, I do the other important Heart job to the best of my ability.

I live in a space of gratitude,

and celebrate exactly where I am on this precious, bittersweet ride called Life.

From this place of gratitude and Love,

I wish you the happiest of Fridays, Beautiful Ones !
