Altar of my Heart

This week seems to have been gathering intensity every day.

Perhaps because of the blue moon tonight ?

Whatever the reason, finding moments of stillness and peace has been a challenge.

One thing that worked beautifully was taking time to recreate my altar in my studio.

New space, new items, and some old things revisited.

The act of placing each item brings a calm I appreciate.

The end result is like a deep cleansing breath.

In this world of go-go-go, do-do-do, and the rush to finish,

taking quiet moments to feed the spirit is so essential.

I am grateful for my little Altar of the Heart.

Soul Treats

Taking a little blog break to enjoy the last bits of summer 2012.

This will include putting my feet in the sand and sea here at home today.

Tomorrow, I will be traveling to my cottage north of Montreal for a weekend with my sweet sisters and some swimming in the magical waters of Lac Bibitte.

The weekend will also include hugging and smooching a 3 month old baby Anderson, and some time with his mom and his dad.

And finally, a visit with my beautiful artist friend, e.b., which is an incredible Soul treat  that is sure to fill me up some more.

Listen to your Longing…

I have been kind of waiting

to get back into my art journal practice.

Waiting until I had more time.

Waiting until I finished all my Rock Fairy orders.

Waiting and also of yearning and longing.

This morning,

Sunday morning,

I decided to take some of the advice the Universe has been sending my way.

What if this was your one day ?

What are you really waiting for ?

Live your life as if…

Do it now.

I took the advice and dove in…

Using Tattered Angel Glitter Mists, sepia ink with a dip pen, bits of silk sari scraps and my creative juices,

out came this three page spread in a 16 page journal made from Teesha Moore’s technique.

Doodles, and my own play on this quote “Let your Life be A Poem” from Patti Digh.

A poem to my Self.

New seeds planted and growing.

Ahhhhh….

It feels good to belong to myself just a little bit more.

I am continuing to deepen my practice of belonging to myself.

My close to empty bucket wasn’t filled in one day.

But I am finding that this taking care of and loving on yourself stuff

really does feel pretty good.

Share the Joy Thursday–Refilling the Bucket

So I find myself depleted.

depleted past participle, past tense of de·plete (Verb)

Verb: 1. Use up the supply of; exhaust the abundance of, 2.diminish in number or quantity.

Jen Louden, whose blog is called “Savor and Serve the World”, wrote this blog post entitled “Stop the cycle of over-providing”. I read it yesterday and it was one of those moments where you just know the Universe was giving you that crystal clear message you were looking for.

I am depleted from overproviding for everyone else but myself.

So today, now,

I have no choice if I want to live the one precious life the way my Soul truly wants me to live.

Today, now,

I am going to deepen my practice of belonging to myself, as Jen suggests as an antidote to this depleted feeling.

Today is going to be all about me, in the very best, super healthiest way possible.

And along the way I know I will find joy.

Today, I will be…

After a pretty rainy, extremely humid weekend,

it was a treat to wake up to dry air, cooler temps and this glorious morning light from the sun.

The first thing I noticed though, was that the sun is definitely heading into its end of summer, early fall position.

How can that be ?

August just began, right ?

Everyone I talk to remarks on how fast time is flying.

I feel it too, especially when I stop focusing on the moment in front of me, and look ahead to the future.

On this beautiful Monday morning in August,

I am going to try my best to be right here where I am,

and relish this one precious life, each and every moment of it.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye !!!!

As of 2:00 this afternoon, Sunday, August 12th,

less than one week since we started out,

The Rock Fairy Team

in support of Team Brilliant and the John F.Ptak Relief Fund

has completed

61 orders of 37 Days Rock My World rocks,

which includes 120 bags of 13 rocks,

for a total of 1560 rocks painted !!!!

 

We are up to date with all the current orders and they will all be sent out in the mail tomorrow.

Once this is done, we will be able to calculate the exact shipping costs & material costs,

and send a nice juicy donation

to the John F. Ptak Relief Fund!

David and I are beyond thrilled with this accomplishment.

It feels so very good to give from our hearts, to have some many other wonderful people join in and help out, and to know that we are all shining our love lights brightly for the awesome family of John, Patti, Emma and Tess.

Now that our well oiled rocking machine is in place, any more orders we get in support of this great cause between now and the 1st of October will be easily filled.

And by getting our donation in to the John F. Ptak Relief Fund right now, every dollar of our donation amount will be matched by a very generous anonymous donor!!!!
