It’s been a grey day.

I am still pretty low energy but feeling so much better.

I joyfully spent the day streaming movies on the iPad and happily stitching away.

IMG_5411

And seeing what today’s energy creates…

I hope your Thursday was full of quiet joy, Beautiful Ones !

Magical time…

A marvelous week was had by all at the Lake House in Charlotte,

as e.b. shared her magic making skills !

IMG_5209

Miss Luna watched over us all and ate many a carrot rolled in cheese !

The magic makers in training,

IMG_5241

Linda Lovely,

IMG_5235

Judi, Wendy, and Linda Charlotte

dove right in, rusting up a storm…

IMG_5230IMG_5227

IMG_5234

IMG_5249

There were a multitude of bundles of eucalyptus, wool and silk,

IMG_5215

IMG_5281IMG_5278IMG_5284

that, once opened up, filled the clothes line with textile treasures !

My own favorite new discovery was the purple, grey, silver wonders

IMG_5212

that came from dyeing with spring time smoke bush leaves from e.b.’s garden…

IMG_5270

Luscious !!!

And of course, the lake provide us with magical golden hours to savor a day of hard but satisfying work…

and our beautiful hostess with the mostest, generously shared her home, art and magic with us, with a happy twinkle in her eye and a full heart.

Haiku My Heart–Primal Voice

Let the primal voice

Escape its cave and find flow.

Make your mark, Old Soul.

*********

Above are some more bits from my rusty paper explorations and a Rock Being called “Rock Soul” .

Know what ?

I am loving my art these days !

I am creating from a pretty cool place.

I have gained a lot of confidence in myself as an Artist.

I have really learned that creating my art is part of my reason for being in the world at this time.

This has made me pretty fearless when it comes to creating.

Yes, a big part of me wants others who I respect to connect with and appreciate what I have created.

But I am also creating just for me,

because it is an essential part of my well being, and the real expression of my Soul.

I am so very grateful to know this,

and to have a life where I get to make my mark in my own unique and rich way.

Make your mark, Beautiful Ones.

The world needs to see it !

Share the Joy–New Landscapes…

From this week’s Joy List…

I won’t lie to you.

My joy list has not been the focus this week very much at all.

Oh, I am trying,

and yes, there are things that made me smile and feel joy

in the midst of a really bad week mood wise.

I am, as always, so grateful for them.

And for this task, every Thursday, of making a joy list,

and realizing

that even when Life seems pretty damn sucky,

there are always moments of joy to savor…

1. My Art – I played with these rusted papers I made last summer all day yesterday.

It would seem that I am creating a book of some kind.

IMG_3961

Using Faber Castell pens, a Sakura white paint pen with an extra fine tip,  and Twinkling H2O’s,

I have been discovering all kinds of new landscapes and creatures

IMG_3962

in the rusty markings on watercolor paper.

IMG_3963

Being with my creative spirit and just letting whatever wants to come emerge

is a kind of peaceful joy that I have so appreciated this week.

2. Friends, furry and otherwise -

When I get stuck in these depressed moods for awhile,

I tend to hide out from my friends.

I feel so ick that I cannot imagine submitting good friends to this version of me I dislike so much.

But sometimes, when I get brave or maybe desperate,

I reach out and call for help.

IMG_3979

The understanding of a good friend, or the hug from my patient and loving husband,

or the purr or snuggle of a fur baby,

are all a beautiful source of joy in the midst of dark days.

I hope you find lots of joy to celebrate today, Beautiful Ones !

The Cocoon is calling….

September ended with mums and time with Mommy…

and all the beauty that that entails.

Now that October has come, and the light is changing,

IMG_2919

(little art altars everywhere – dyed cashmere, silk, wool and other bits)

I can feel the cocoon beginning to call…

The need to go inside…

to create…

to explore inner landscapes…

and go where the Artist in me wants to go…

There is an inner glow that has begun…

and I am happy

to go with it…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While the call to go inward is hitting me, I still have some away from home adventures that I am excited about. Yay for October !
I am packing and getting ready for Art is You in Stamford, CT. I am heading there this weekend for some fun time with girlfriends and to take some great classes to jumpstart my creative time.
I will be taking a class with Pam Carriker called “Get the Lead Out”, and a two day class of intuitive painting with Tracy Verdugo called “Sacred Marks”.
I get home on my birthday (the 9th) and then will be heading up to Canada for the following weekend to visit the family and celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving a week late with my favorite peeps !
Like the caterpillar, I am fattening myself up with good social time and lots of soul food, so that the season of the cocoon will be a cozy one !
Happy October, Beautiful Ones !
Big light and love to you in this dimming time.
