Haiku My Head, I mean Heart…

Why do we choose wrong

Mean mates, credit card debt, fried rice

When we know better ?

P6140008

I guess all we can do is show compassion for ourselves when we do,

dust ourselves off,

pull up our socks,

drink some ginger ale with our Advil,

and

promise ourselves we will try better next time.

(Note to self – Overindulgence is not necessary, moderation is your friend. Let’s try to remember that, okay ?)

For more (and better !) haiku, head over to see my beautiful friend rebecca at recuerda mi corazon.

Happy Friday !

I love your haiku. The question I have been asking myself lately is this:

"When did I decide I had to make a decision?"

I mean, well, it's self-explanatory....

Oh, and my motto, even moderation in moderation, don't want to do too much of a good thiong.

Peace to you.

Maybe we choose wrong sometime because our heart is so big and we want to believe ALL hearts are like that. It's the prize we pay, but we better choose wrong sometime than stay put and never choose at all... wishing you peace of mind my soulsister!

may we all know (and offer) the grace of forgiveness when we stumble, and a love that hopes all things, believes all things... (you are beautiful.)

when you start down that road stop! instead list all the things where you made the right decision! they far outnumber the seemingly wrong ones. and who knows maybe the" wrong "has a reason! just wear a mysterious smile!

We all take those "wrong turns" in life... but we must remember that it is not only the good and right decisions that make us who we are... If there was no sorrow, no hurt, how would we know peace and happiness? I wish you balance Beautiful Kim...

Smiling and cringing at the same time. Whatever you overindulged, may you feel better very soon. What great questions! All of us have been there, done that, and will probably do it again.

Oh dear... overindulging is so easy! Love your haiku, though and I hope the swelling subsides quickly. I ate 2 pancake rolls and some curry sauce last night (thanks to DD!) and am no worse off today, so I am filled with compassion for your suffering. Take care Kim! xo
PS - LOVE your well-balanced angel! =)

You have to be kind to yourself...even with those occasional indulgences

I hope that you feel better soon. Are you just talking about eating indulgence here or is something else personal afoot? Are you alright? You mention credit card debt and "mates" I thought you were referring to your marriage, not food. Whatever is troubling you, I hope it is better soon my dear.

over indulgence and I have been friends on and off over the years. Moderation is trying to become my BFF and I'm grateful! Love the Haiku and the photos!

It is so inspiring to see your and Dave's love. Now, about showing compassion for ourselves - there is a great topic. Why is it harder to forgive ourselves than others? Even strangers? Perhaps we hold ourselves to a higher standard? I don't know other than this has been fore front in my mind as well (battling yet another round of pink eye, starting to think it has more to do with how I am looking at things rather than strictly a viral or bacterial infection (while fully acknowledging that as truth as well). You have opened up a pandora's box with this, but it is better out in the open. Gotta love the photo of your rock eye, if you know what I mean!
