My Summer Beach Vacation Photos…

David and I rented a camper trailer in Wells, Maine for the week which we shared with my sister Kristina, her hubby John, my nephew Thomas and my niece, Kate.

Here are some of my favorite photos from our time…P7260132

The “I would rather be surfing” family portrait shot…

P7260091 - Copy

The 7 Year Old Happily surfing shot…

P7260119

The Momma and Dadda Love shot…

P7240038 - Copy

The “I am two and I am gorgeous” shot…

P7240016“Kate’s first toenail polish”.

P7300001

Rocks painted by nephews and nieces and left around the trailer for the Rock Fairy to find !

(I named this one “Quevousfaites”, Katie’s version of “Whatcha doing ?” a common phrase of the week !”

P7300007

You know the Rock Fairy really loved this one !

P7310047

Hot sunny summer days mean masses of humanity and umbrellas on the beach…

P7310057

We joined them and chose to enjoy it all !

P7310081

Major exception was the men in Speedos – can’t say I enjoyed them. Made me kind of ill really.  TMI visually, TMI!!!! (too much information)

Unless you are an Olympic swimmer in a competition swimming pool, Speedos should be illegal (do you hear that, 40 something men who couldn’t have pulled one off when you were 20 either!)…

Sorry for the rant…

Back to the photos…

One thing that was extra special about having a trailer near the beach was that we could visit the beach a second time in the evenings when it was cooler.

The beach at Wells, Maine also allows dogs on the beach after 6:00 pm.

Guess who was in heaven !!!

P7300033

Miss Chica was a star, racing after that blue rubber ball in the surf !

P7300032

P7300015

This was one happy, sandy, wet puppy !

Her Momma and Dadda were pretty happy too…

P7300040

Ahhh, beach love….

Not much art being made, though…

Too busy creating life-long memories…

I did have one quiet morning where the art journal came out…

Artist in Residence job description…  P7310043Quevousfaites approved…

We got home Saturday evening and spent the day yesterday brushing sand off of things, missing our little family from La Conception, and getting ready for going back to the regular schedule of life.

We did go see “Despicable Me” late in the afternoon as well. Have you seen it ?

Loved it !!!

Especially Agnes (littlest chickie with the high pony and sweet, sweet heart)…

I kind of think I am Agnes in a lot of ways…

Here is a clip of my favorite scene in the movie…”It’s So FLUFFY!!!!”

The movie made me laugh and laugh…a perfect treat to end our vacation week with.

Monday means studio time, blog time, and meditation class tonight…

All that with a sun-kissed nose and rested and happy heart…

Hope your Monday is great too, Beautiful Ones !

Fab post and who wouldn't love to be wet and sandy like Chica. I love it that Maine allows dogs on the beach after 6:00. They deserve some swim time too. Totally agree about the speedos- ugh! xox Corrine

I can feel the holiday vibe coming off the page Kim. Beauitiful, happy pics.

In Australia we call speedo's 'budgie smugglers'(as in budgerigar) LOL :)

Ah, the age old question about speedo -vs- long short style suit. For some reason the speedo has made a comeback this summer - with longer legs though. Yes, yes TMI. Mind you, the same goes for women's suits, IMHO. That looks like one happy, wet, smelly dog! You'll be finding that sand for weeks, nay - months to come! But nothing quite like a beach vacation either.
