I became an official member of my friend Amy’s posse when I received my badge in the mail yesterday.

There’s a new sheriff in town and she wears a feathered tiara.

I am so very grateful to have so many wonderful friends in my life who love to see me shine !

Thanks, Miss Amy, Ma’am, for making me feel that way today!

Sharing the Joy Thursday

Let me share some simple joys in my world today.

Nothing fancy, but oh, so sweet.

Meet Eddie.

He is my new boyfriend.

Yes, David knows about him. He is kind of okay with it, since Eddie is a bit of a bird brain.

Eddie showed up on the April Fool’s Day Snow Storm last week, and has been hanging out at the feeder and in the maple trees around our yard every since.

His serenade makes my heart melt !

And he’s not bad to look at either. I don’t usually go for redheads, but he has changed that !

Azzy really likes Eddie too.

He watches him from his perch in the studio window and makes those hilarious open mouth noises that cats make when they see a bird at the buffet !

I am also joyful that tomorrow and Saturday

I will be gathering with my Arty Friends for some girlfriend time, food, wine, art-making and sleepover !

Though my pal Colleen who introduced me to the gang cannot make it, ;-( ,

I am looking very forward to spending time with the other NH ladies and lovely Linda who is driving in from Long Island for the fun !

I am also excited that next week, He and I :

will be chasing the spring time and the glorious blossoms

and recreating the wonderful trip we had three years ago to Virginia Beach in April.

I know it was three years ago because that is where we were when we heard the news that this Earth Day Baby had arrived :

and this year on Earth Day, April 22nd, we will be celebrating Kate’s third birthday !

Time sure goes fast…

But is so filled with sweet joys to celebrate !

Thinking about all of these joyful things makes me feel so very, very blessed !

Let’s keep the focus on what is good, Beautiful Ones, in order to create more of it !

It has been so fun already and I haven’t even received one card of my own yet.

 

I did receive another sweet gift in the mail on Monday.

Look at what the awesome Chel from GingerBlue sent me !

Chel makes her own beautiful beads and sent me this sweet bracelet in my very favorite turquoise color.

I love it and it is so spring-y!

I will definitely be wearing it today as I head out to do all kinds of errands, and also to have lunch with my friend Lois.

The sun is shining, my cardinal is singing and I am ready to enjoy this spring day !

Seaside Sunday…

So after the crazy April Fool’s Day snow, we got this magnificent day in the 50’s on Sunday.

It was very windy but I just felt the need to hit the beach and visit my favorite ocean.

One thing I love about North Beach in Hampton Beach, NH is that it is Rock Fairy heaven !

The rocks get rolled around by the waves at high tide and the sounds of it is like laughter.

Like the rocks are playing with the waves and laughing.

You can hear it her, in spite of the wind…

Sometimes, I make rock statues with the gorgeous smooth stones on my beach and leave them behind for the tide.

Yesterday, I continued with the angel making and left this on a huge cement block by the seawall.

I added a little Rock Fairy love to it as well.

It was almost high tide when I arrived at the beach,

which means that there is no sand to walk on on my rocky hang out.

That’s just fine though.

I was able to sit, breathe, listen to the rhythm of those magnificent waves playing with my rock friends and have some moments of peace that I can only get there.

That place fills me up.

It’s only fair that I leave a little bit of my love behind when I leave…

My Sunday morning also involved some art-making at home.

My postcards for the Postcard Swap hosted by Hanna are almost ready to go.

I really enjoyed working on them in the morning sunlight yesterday.

This is one that I really love :

I actually used bits from a colored photocopy of a page from my art journal from 2009.

I had made color copies of a lot of my pages for some class or something and never really used them until recently. It is really fun to use bits of your own work to create something new !

I recommend that you visit your local copying place with your journal and color copy some of your favorite pages. Then you can revisit and re-use stuff that is uniquely yours in other pieces !

Angels and Fools…

So April 1st gave me this.

Oh, and here’s a little proof in case you were wondering.

The snow is melting like crazy today.

We ended up with only about 3 inches all together.

Right now, it is about 48 degrees (+8 C) and sunny.

April Foolishness appears to be over for Mother Nature.

For me, I am not so sure !

Okay, it is kind of beautiful.

At least, I have chosen to see it that way.

Knowing that the temperatures are supposed to be in the 50’s on Monday helps me to see it that way.

So does the fact that I have the whole day to spring clean my closet and then to paint in the studio.

I guess a snow day on April 1st isn’t so bad !
