Sunday morning.
The light through yonder window shines on Happy.
Happy Sunday, Beautiful Ones !
Sunday morning.
The light through yonder window shines on Happy.
Happy Sunday, Beautiful Ones !
Beautiful Little Happy is back in his lovely lighted window perch.
He is enjoying the gifts of the last marigold blooms.
In his lap, he holds the power of the drying chinese lantern, the little Vermont pear
and some special rocks that came through me this week.
The most special of all is perhaps the Bear image,
offering its Bear Medicine healing
to some dear loved ones laying low,
and to our world that needs it so much.
I hope you have a happy Sunday, Beautiful Ones !
Big Love !
I have been kind of waiting
to get back into my art journal practice.
Waiting until I had more time.
Waiting until I finished all my Rock Fairy orders.
Waiting and also of yearning and longing.
This morning,
Sunday morning,
I decided to take some of the advice the Universe has been sending my way.
What if this was your one day ?
What are you really waiting for ?
Live your life as if…
Do it now.
I took the advice and dove in…
Using Tattered Angel Glitter Mists, sepia ink with a dip pen, bits of silk sari scraps and my creative juices,
out came this three page spread in a 16 page journal made from Teesha Moore’s technique.
Doodles, and my own play on this quote “Let your Life be A Poem” from Patti Digh.
Eucalyptus leaves as masks then doodled over…
A poem to my Self.
New seeds planted and growing.
Ahhhhh….
It feels good to belong to myself just a little bit more.
Happy Sunday, Beautiful Ones !
Postcards from Paradise is hosted each Sunday
by the lovely Rebecca at recuerda mi corazon.
“Purpose” – 6X6” canvas collage
I hope your Sunday has beautiful moments of grace in it.
Big Love, Beautiful Ones.
So this weekend was kind of boring. Nothing special. At least, on the outside.
It involved a lot of errands that I would have usually done during the week, but the “monsters” kind of interfered with my energy level last week.
It involved household duties like lawn work and sprinkler fixing for David. And for me, normal laundry and bigger stuff like washing the dog crate bedding.
It did not involved lounging in a chair by the sea, or really celebrating the shortest of all seasons here in New England as I would have loved to do
but looking back on it, it was a “take action” weekend for lots of odds and ends
and that kind of gives me a sense of accomplishment.
Some sweet spots included :
stopping at the pet store for dog food, and finding this big, long, fluffy friend for Chica in the clearance aisle !
I also printed out quite a few pieces of my art work and created some cards, a few of which went into the mail this morning with surprise birthday wishes inside.
Sunday was National Waffle Day ! (oh, no, did you miss it ?!)
Waffles are a fav of the hubby so I made up a batch and we had breakfast on the back deck to celebrate.
I also spent sometime doing my Rock Fairy duties. The staff at my oral surgeon’s office is doing the Light The Night Walk for Leukemia in September and I have donated a custom bag of Rock My World Rocks to hand out to the participants.
Their team is called “Angels and Heroes” so each rock has that on one side, and some inspirational words from the Rock Fairy on the other.
I love being able to spread the love in these little ways! I will be dropping these off today when I go to my last follow-up appointment after having my wisdom teeth out in May. The tongue is still slightly tingly/numb on one side as a result of that long ago surgery but there are days when I forget about it most of the time so that is good sign that I may just heal up completely over time.
(The flowers on the back deck this morning are celebrating the rainy day !)
So while not everyday can be about the big, juicy celebrations,
taking the time to notice the simple graces in the every day is what makes life feel special and well lived, don’t you think ?
What was your sweetest of simple graces this past weekend, Beautiful One ?
I hope you took the time to notice and celebrate them a bit.
Happy Monday !
We had about half a day of sun yesterday. Enough to do a little yard work and feel the warm rays on my back.
Today, the grey is back.
And with it, a little grey-ness in my mood.
Time for art.
Begin with some of the great new stamps I bought from Scrollwork, this great little stamp company which is unfortunately going out of business. I treated myself before they are all gone…
I found this prepped page in the art journal – bits of spray residue in a perfectly greyish palette…
What do you see in the blobbies ?
I saw the profile of a woman, and added the pointy hat stamp with StazOn in black to form a crown of sorts.
I pinked her up with Twinkling H20’s and Inktense water color pencils and some blending with a paintbrush and water.
Added the birds on a wire (with some Twinkling H20’s on the birds for some shimmer),
and the “ No. 3” with the black ink and my stamps,
followed by a few lines from a Fleetwood Mac song…
and the piece felt done.
I love this sweet spot…
Going to spend the day looking for more sweet spots in spite of the greyness.
Listen to this cool version of this song if you have a chance…a sweet spot moment.
Happy Sunday, Beautiful Ones.
So after the crazy April Fool’s Day snow, we got this magnificent day in the 50’s on Sunday.
It was very windy but I just felt the need to hit the beach and visit my favorite ocean.
One thing I love about North Beach in Hampton Beach, NH is that it is Rock Fairy heaven !
The rocks get rolled around by the waves at high tide and the sounds of it is like laughter.
Like the rocks are playing with the waves and laughing.
You can hear it her, in spite of the wind…
Sometimes, I make rock statues with the gorgeous smooth stones on my beach and leave them behind for the tide.
Yesterday, I continued with the angel making and left this on a huge cement block by the seawall.
I added a little Rock Fairy love to it as well.
It was almost high tide when I arrived at the beach,
which means that there is no sand to walk on on my rocky hang out.
That’s just fine though.
I was able to sit, breathe, listen to the rhythm of those magnificent waves playing with my rock friends and have some moments of peace that I can only get there.
That place fills me up.
It’s only fair that I leave a little bit of my love behind when I leave…

My Sunday morning also involved some art-making at home.
My postcards for the Postcard Swap hosted by Hanna are almost ready to go.
I really enjoyed working on them in the morning sunlight yesterday.
This is one that I really love :
I actually used bits from a colored photocopy of a page from my art journal from 2009.
I had made color copies of a lot of my pages for some class or something and never really used them until recently. It is really fun to use bits of your own work to create something new !
I recommend that you visit your local copying place with your journal and color copy some of your favorite pages. Then you can revisit and re-use stuff that is uniquely yours in other pieces !
I hope you have a great Monday, Beautiful Ones !
Big Love !
Sunday morning, March 13, 2011.
Daylight Savings Time is in effect.
This day always feels like you are running after time.
It feels like 8:30 am but it is already 9:30…
Most days do feel like that, in fact, with Life going so quickly it makes my head spin sometimes.
With all the horrifying events happening in our world today,
I do the only thing I know that works to keep life making sense.
I turn to gratitude.
Deep Thankfulness for this day, this moment, this breath.
Deep thankfulness for the ones I love…
Oh, I draw them close to me in my heart..
Thankfulness for my ability to still see what is good and beautiful,
in spite of the evil and the horrific.
Thankfulness for my compassion and the strength of my Love, and for the beauty of my Own Soul.
And gratitude for my Voice, my Creativity, my connection to Others in my world.
Deep gratitude for all that I have and all that I am, really.
“Today, like every other day, we wake up empty
and frightened.Don't open the door to the study
and begin reading.Take down a musical instrument.
Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.” – Rumi
I plan on spending this gift of a day BEing, to the best of my ability.
In gratitude.
Light and Love, Beautiful Ones.
