On the lanai this morning. Chica, Azzy, Pumpkin and I enjoying the start to the day...

Go Fish…

Look at my poor sweet Chica’s new shaved do !

The do is a result of her ultrasound performed yesterday.

All results showed that her urinary track and kidneys are looking normal.

That’s good to know.

We are now thinking that she has been in pain in her spine and hips and that that is likely the cause for her waking us up multiple times a night to exit the crate where she usually sleeps and go out side, where she proceeded to just stand there.

For the last two nights, she has slept on her bed, placed the floor by our bed, and we have had the first solid nights sleeps in our room in about a month.

Yay ! Let’s hope this continues !

I happily played in my journal again this morning.

This Fish Girl and her friend floated onto the page.

 

I like her and her Soul Wisdom a lot !

My Not So Guilty Pleasure…

August Break Prompt : My Guilty Pleasure

My guilty pleasure,

which I am working at no longer feeling guilt about,

is joining these two cuties

on the big white bed

for naps.

Every once in  a while, fat Pumpkin Kitty may hop on up as well.

Especially in the heat of the Florida summer afternoons.

We slumber dreamily,

for an hour or so,  

under the slowly turning fan.

On weekends,

my sweet Hubby is known to join us too.

Especially after a day frolicking at the beach.

How I love naps in my big white bed.

And all the beings I share it with.

Nothing to feel guilty about in that !

It’s one of life’s sweet pleasures in my book !

Doggie Couch Chat

Patine asks "Chica, can I play with your brand new stuffed Bat squeaker?"

Chica thinks "If I ignore her and pretend she's not here, on my sofa, chewing on my brand new stuffed Bat squeaker, maybe she will disappear."

"Why is Chica ignoring me? I have spent the whole week chewing on her neck, trying to hump her, and am even willing to break in her brand new stuffed Bat squeaker for her! Doesn't that make us BFFs?" asked Patine.

"Chew on it, Pipsqueak. I need a nap! "

"Will do, Bestie! Can't wait until spring break when I come back for another visit!"

"Kill me now!"

Suzanne and Patine were fun guests here at the Yellow House on Orange Street this week. I am sure Chica and the cats agree !

Happy weekend and safe travels home for my friends!

Thanks for a lovely Black Friday !

Thanksgiving was a sweet gathering,

and yummy food eaten at David’s Dad’s house.

David, I and Chica spent part of our Black Friday at the beach.

It was cold but we were bundled up,

and Chica kept warm, racing after her favorite object on the planet,

the blue rubber ball.

That,

and some turkey and stuffing sandwiches on white bread

made the day pretty much perfect !

Off to Montreal and La Conception for a birthday hug for my sister Natalie, and some Christmas arts and crafts with the niece and nephew.

Many hugs from other important people along the way, I am sure !

4. The beautiful Chica-leeka-lulu,(Chiquitita), who dreams of squirrel catching through the closed studio doors.

(Why do we bother giving our pets real names when we end up having a bazillion nick names for them ?!)

5. Having creative time in the studio and being visited by new Rock Beings !

Focusing on the joy and small graces is such a comfort in these chaotic, challenging times. I think it is actually our biggest, most important work during our time here on the planet.

While the Muse is away…

Meet my new buddy – Mr. Crochet Hook!

Along with my friend Sonia who showed me how to use him,

he is helping me keep from going completely stir crazy this winter,

and also to fill in the blanks while my usual Muse seems to have recently flown the coop.

Has the bitch escaped to Florida with the Snow Birds perhaps ?

Traitor !

Any way, I have been crocheting up a little storm,

now that I have the basic stitches kind of down.

Of course, I am horrible at following patterns and directions so I have been making tons of circles and doily flowery things. I have also made some cuff length strips that I hope to stitch some eucalyptus dyed bits to at some point. Some are even made of natural silk and/or wool yarn and can be thrown in the dye pot too…

David asks what I am going to do with this growing pile of rounds…

I don’t know yet but I do know that making them helps me relax and seeing them in a bunch makes me smile.

Those are good enough reasons to keep at it for now, I guess…

Speaking of things that make me smile.

Every time I walk into the living room and witness this, I smile !

Boo loves his blond doggie and Cheeks is too kind to say no to a kitty cat snuggle!
