Haiku My Heart–I go to the Sea
I go to the sea.
Sky, sand, sun, cloud, wave, bird, air.
I return to me.
I return to the beauty of a few carefully chosen words and the bright hearts that share them at Haiku My Heart.

Haiku My Heart–Home Making…
Flotsam and jetsam
Of life gathered in altars
Saying I am here.
(Mini-zombie doll by artist Linda Willis)
(Painted rocks by the Rock Fairy)
(Star by me, Scarred heart by Alisa Burke)
(Mermaid from a Playa del Carmen souvenir shop, Henrietta bobbin doll by Sam Johnson, felted Rock Being by me)
(Stitched squares by me, yoyos by my grandmother)
Yesterday, while continuing the unpacking process, I finally reached the point where my real stuff, the stuff I love, that I have chosen, that I have gathered along the way,
was emerging from the piles of paper
and
finding new homes in my new home.
I recognized the feeling of placing my stuff just so,
creating little altars everywhere,
of marking the spot
with my very own hand, eye, and heart.
Made me feel like I am here now.
Made me feel at home.
Interesting to acknowledge, appreciate and in fact love,
the fact that
the creation of a home that reflects bits of who I am,
where I have come from,
what I love,
is
Art
from my Heart.

Haiku My Heart - Let Love be the Guide.
Babes in the Wood -
(Art journal spread, Moleskine journal, spray inks, acrylic paint, India ink, Faber Castell pens, Distress Ink pens, and white paint pen)
Sweet, as you wander,
Keep your heart open to love.
Let it be your guide.
*****************
Keeping my big heart open.
Sometimes that is pretty scary.
As scary as things that go bump in the night.
Vulnerable, knowing hurt may be around the corner.
But choosing
to
LOVE
anyway.
That’s what feels right in my soul.
And that can’t be wrong ?
Right ?
Happy Friday, beautiful Ones !
May your heart be open to big old loving !

Haiku My Heart–Making my Season Merry and Bright
I’m checking the list.
Doing only what feels right.
Love, joy, season’s bright.
******************************
I think the perfectionist of old in me has finally truly got it.
There is no such thing as a perfect Christmas.
No amount of decorating, baking or fretting will make it so.
And there is no way to make someone else’s Christmas perfect either.
What there is is joy in giving wherever you can and without expectations.
Little things that make someone smile.
And not expecting everyone to smile, either.
Just giving because your heart feels open to do so, and because you know that it is part of your purpose on this Earth.
And loving what is.
And fiercely loving the people who are in that close circle around your heart,
not with the packages under the tree,
but in the kindness,
the loving gestures,
the real Love giving
that lets them know they are deeply loved by you.
This is what Christmas means to me now.
If it brings my heart joy, I will do it.
If it brings me stress or worry, it will be off the list.
I am making my season merry and bright !
Big Love to all of you, Beautiful Ones !
Be kind to your awesome self today !

Haiku My Heart–A Haiku for Joe
A Haiku for Joe
A weaver of tales
He made deep marks on this world
With his heart story.
Man of Peace, my Friend,
Now makes his journey onward
Flies on wings of love.
My friend, Joe Spado, died on Monday, December 2nd, 2013.
We connected through Haiku My Heart, lovingly hosted each Friday by Rebecca of recuerda mi corazon.
We never met in person but I know him by heart.
A beautiful work of art by him hangs in my bedroom window, catching dreams and shining with love and care.
I feel as though I have a new guardian spirit hovering in that gentle space beyond.
I know your new travels on the wind will be gentle and peaceful, Man.
I am sending love and comfort to the hearts of those you have left on this side.
Thanks for what your Beautiful Spirit brought to my world.
Love & Peace, Man.

Haiku May Heart–Filling up
Fill the inside up
With joy, love and gratitude.
I need to start from there.
****************
Working really hard here to keep my insides filled with the good stuff.
This darkening season is always a challenge for me.
I have picked up my gratitude journal and placed it by the bed, so the last thing I do at night is write a few things I am grateful for that day.
I have re-dedicated myself to my meditation practice, with the help of Deepak Chopra and Oprah’s Desire and Destiny 21 Day Meditation.
Next steps include bundling myself up and getting outside everyday for some daylight, even as my body cringes at the idea of the cold right now.
And also working with cutting back on comfort foods and sugar and putting nourishing stuff inside this one vehicle I have to get me through life.
I think the one thing I really, really have to work on is having self-compassion.
Even if I was to do everything in my power to help myself with my seasonal depression symptoms, (in other words, be perfect ! ),
there will always be days when the dark over takes the light.
After about 30 years of this, I know that to be true for me.
I need to learn to give myself compassion on those days, especially.
And keep looking towards the light.
Fill your insides up with the good stuff, Beautiful Ones !
Happy Friday!

Haiku My Heart–Instead of Fear
Please don’t feed the fears.
Instead, nourish your spirit
With thanks, joy and love.
5 things I am grateful for :
1.My cozy house.
2.My Husband.
3.My family and friends.
4. My eyes, hands, heart, lungs, body that lets me travel this sweet journey.
5. The colors of this cold Fall day.
*********************
This week has flown by !
I returned home from Quebec on Tuesday and the laundry, household tasks and time change adjustment seem to have stolen the days.
I was happy to take some creative time this morning and create a cool new doodle page on a piece of blotter paper, and a new, precious Rock Being.
Isn’t she lovely in the Fall light ?
She even has some luscious permanent gold ink detail on her done with gold India Ink and a dip pen.
She will be in the Etsy shop tomorrow if anyone needs her sweet Rock Being energy for themselves.
I have been enjoying reading many posts on Facebook and on some great blogs about gratitude.
T’is the month for it here in the US, right ?
I have been rediscovering how much gratitude helps in times of worry, uncertainty and chaos.
When the waves of scary stuff build, plunging into a list of what is right, what I am grateful for, what is truly okay right in this minute,
really does allow the wave to break over me but not knock me over completely.
I am able to keep swimming and even find lots to be joyous about !
So I’m working on keeping to that place of nourishing gratitude.
How about you, Beautiful Ones ?
Wishing you a Friday full of things to be grateful for !
Big Love !
