Haiku My Heart - September arrived.

Subtle light changes
Cool sleeps, long sleeves, maybe socks ?
My September blues.

Yes, folks, September has arrived.

Most of you are already fully aware of this and coping, or possibly even enjoying !.

I have somehow just become clued into it this morning as I shivered in my own kitchen for the first time in a very long time.

It was 46 degrees outside and the windows were all open in summertime mode.

Brrr....

I have had a really good summer.

But it feels like I just got started !

I do love Fall very much, but it seems to have been sprung on me somehow.

Ah well...

I will take comfort in my stitching and creative juicy stuff,

and maybe just a few too many of these new found treasures.

I am enjoying play time this month with Deb Taylor and her awesome Mish Mash gang.

Plus no more flipflops will mean it's time for red cowgirl boots !

Hope your September 2013 is treating you well, Beautiful Ones.
Big love !

Haiku My Heart–Everyday is day one.

DSC03987

The smiles mark the days

I take Good Care of my Self.

Day One, everyday.

**************

Seems kind of childish, like getting a gold star for behaving in class.

But watching the calendar fill up with happy faces, and having to pass by it every day, multiple times a day, as the calendar is right by the computer, will be motivating I think.

Used to help with my first graders so why not with little old me ?

As you can see by the calendar, we are headed to Maine next week.

We will be staying in a nicely equipped camper at a campsite just down the road from the beach.

Cooler temps. and quieter beaches await us,

and that is just fine with me.

The ocean, art supplies, books on the Nook, cozy sleeping bags for two, my pooch

and my Man…

Sounds like a perfect vacation to me !

Thanks in advance to my friend Colleen-y, who will be taking care of the kitties at home.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Labor Day weekend.

Remember to take some down time for yourself. That’s what it is all about, right ?

Big Love !

September begins…

P9010005

This art journal page is from exactly one year ago, September 1, 2009.

Not sure why but there has been a bit of looking back in the last couple of days.

I think it is okay to look back and see how far you have come, as long as you don’t get stuck in the “but I haven’t done…”’s or the “shoot, that is still the same !”’s. Or even worse, the “oh, no, this is worse than it was then !!!”’s.

That is a trap that is super hard to get out of once you are there.

“Come back to the present, Kimbo, come back…!”

Am I better or worse than I was one year ago today ?

Yes.

;)

And am I a little wiser ?

I would like to think so.

I fear less, though I am still not fearless.

My love for my friends and family is deeper and richer than it has ever been.

And my love for my self…well, I am a work in progress…

All in all, I am at peace with the idea that I am exactly where I am supposed to be today.

I think Maya would be pretty proud…

May September be the kindest month for all of us, Beautiful Ones.

Big Love !

By the way, I have added some new cards to the Esty shop. A package of 4 "Love is the way" cards with one of them featuring the journal page that makes up my blog banner. "Rock My World Rocks" are always available too ! Cheers !

September - The Be Wise Month

September ?

How did it possibly get here so quickly ?

Once again, I feel like I am just playing along at my own speed while the entire world is going in fast forward. Sometimes I worry that I am being left behind. Other times, I think I have figured it out, and that this is the only way for me to be.

Anyway, this month is starting off at a pace that is definitely leaving me far behind the pack, still at the starting gate. Worry snuck in again big time last night...Challenges are back...Life went from relatively peaceful to pretty damn chaotic in the span of about an hour...Not a good night around here...

This morning, I was feeling pretty desperate for solutions, had a nice pounding headache, was feeling super stressed, wanting to take action but so unclear about what to do. You got it ! I am stuck in WORRYLAND again !!!

Then the little voice said to "Try and take hold of the ideas you had in this post, and most especially this comment that you got about it just yesterday" :

Kat's Custom Kreations said...
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for sharing that fabulously beautiful post with us all!
It has brought me to tears! I have posted it on my Facebook and hope that exponential others are blessed by your taking a few moments to share your thoughts and situation. You just never know when something you are going through will shine a light onto someone elses situation and together we can all triumph! Maybe a little worn around the edges, but with more dignity and character than when we began our journey! Blessings to you!

I can't quite express how much this comment from Kat touched me. It made me feel like my path is good somehow, at least for right now.

So here is the art journal page I created this morning. It was done in a super frenetic way - not relaxing play, that's for sure. It is certainly not my favorite in terms of art work but man, I need to hold on to the message today !

All I can do today is :

with my whole heart.

I am keeping the journal page open and placed with my bowl of heart rocks that have found me along the way. A little altar to being wise, waiting to worry and a reminder to try, try, and try.

Welcome to September, Babies !

New Month, New Mantra, right ?
