My heart is tender.

Accepting the changing view

Takes a little time.

Share the Joy Thursday–It’s in the little things.

I found joy in the Queen of Arts Studio this week.

It is where I spent a lot of time, so that makes sense.

I found it in the furry visitors that sometimes share the space with me :

(Azzy)

I found it in the color, message and abundance of what  I created :

(Car Jewelry, ready for packaging)

and I also found it in the little rituals I have in my space that make me feel grounded in the moment.

I am grateful for all of these little things that bring me joy.

And I am also grateful for the joy that comes from cataloguing and sharing them here !

I was lucky enough to win it in a giveaway from Julie Balzer a few months back.

Time to get it dirty!

Acrylic paints on a sponge will work well.

Flip the stencil and we have both a left and right hand !

Taking it slowly…

Hello, Monday !

This weekend was all about leaf raking with the hubby. We made a start on the big yearly task. With 6 big maples in the backyard, we still have a lot to do. Yay for teamwork !

I was also working on the gifties for my mom’s office staff.

Every year, the boss’s wife gives me a contract for 40 or so of whatever crafty thing I come up with to add to the gift bags that she makes for all the staff.

This is what I came up with this year :

Car Jewelry !

If you drive in big city traffic like they have in Montreal, I figure a little message of calmness and something pretty to look at hanging from your mirror is a nice gift.

The charms are made out of self drying clay and the words are stamped with a rubber stamp alphabet. My friend Kim shared her technique with me. Thanks, Kimmypoo !

I received my new blank Moleskine art journal but haven’t taken the time to start using it yet.

I am focused on the craft fair in December right now and I am missing the real arty me.

I promise myself to find at least an hour, and splatter some paint around on a couple of those pristine pages this week.

Azzy and I are ready  for the day.

Little altars everywhere…

I have been making little altars in my space since I was a little kid.

A gathering of items that bring me joy.

Things that represent me in the moment.

Bits and pieces I love.

On my computer desk, I have this little altar spot right in front of my eye.

There, I have a postcard made by Facebook friend with my life mantra on it.

I have a little clay piece my dear friend Kim made for me.

I have the amazing rock vase made by NH artist Lee Spiller that I gifted myself with.

And I have a sweet painted heart rock from my soul friend, Lynne Hoppe.

To these lovely bits, I occasionally add a rock of my own making.

This morning, I needed a rock.

I needed one to ground me.

I needed one to keep me filled up as I was feeling far too much on the empty side…

The rock I chose was “hope”.

I love that word.

I even love the shape of the letters that form it.

But this morning, it didn’t feel like enough.

So, I reached into my bag of rocks for another.

Guess what rock came to me ?

Okay.

Message heard.

I guess today, I needed twice as much hope as usual.

So full of hope,

I will meet the new day.

I hope your day is a joy-filled one !

Catching up…

I am a few days late in getting my October sketchbook out to my other Creative Sistahs this month.

I somehow forgot that after Halloween, it is November ! Ooops !

But it is going out into the mail today.

The pages for Kathy’s book were inspired by the lovely red tutu adventure I had for my birthday earlier in October and this photo.

I am happy with it.

I especially love how cute the rocks in my hand look.

The red tutu is out on its was to its next secret Red Tutu Chickie.

I am sure we will hear all about it when she gets it!!!

I am busy in the studio, painting rocks and doing crafty stuff for an upcoming local high school craft fair in December, as well as making 40 or so gifties for the staff at my Mom’s office which I do every year.

I am working on keeping the blahs about the winter season away. It feels like it is approaching very rapidly here in New Hampshire.

Today is not so bad. Though there is still some packed snow around, there is a lot of melting happening with the temps nearing 50 degrees.

I can handle that.

Off to the Post Office !
