Rock Fairy, Rock Fairy, Where have you been ? And where are you going ?

Oh, Kimbo, where have you been ?

I haven’t been blogging very much since 2014 was rung in.

That is because the beginning of the year was taken up spending a lot of time with this little Monkey.

Helping his Momma, my niece Amanda, out with caring for him, watching him grow every day,

and falling madly, and completely in love with him.

Jayden and his mom have moved on to another home now,

but our time together was one of the most precious life experiences I have ever had.

Love you guys !

Spring is finally, finally, slowly arriving here in New Hampshire.

The wearing of the parka is being let go in favor of the lighter coat and pretty scarves,

and best of all, the snow has melted enough to allow the Chucks to reappear !!!

Creatively, I have been focused in stitch love,

making these little stitched pillows for a swap with my amazing friend Deb Taylor, and a bunch of other stitch happy artists.

IMG_7892

We each had to make 16 pillows in a shabby chic style.

These are some of my favs in my batch.

That was a whole lot of stitch love in lots of little packages !

Other than my swap contributions,

my creative time has been kind of limited of another important reason.

The Queen of Arts Studio and the Rock Fairy are on the move !

Along with everything we are keeping from the yellow house on Orange Street!

David and I and our furry babies are purging and packing up to move

way down south

to Tampa, Florida !

Yes, Beautiful Ones, the Rock Fairy has just lived through the last New England winter she will see for a good long while!

David has been transferred to the Tampa offices of the company he works for,

and in June, we are off to start a whole new life

in sunny and warm Florida !

Of course, we are very excited, though we are going through the huge stresses of packing up and arranging things here in NH, finding a new home in the Tampa area from a long distance away, and dealing with the details of getting all of our belongings moved about a 1000 miles away.

The other hard part is leaving my family and friends in Montreal really far behind.

It will mean less frequent trips north to spend time with them, but hopefully longer and special times together in the Sunshine State to make up for it!

So time for blogging may be still kind of scarce until we get settled in our new home down south. I look forward to reconnecting and diving back in from there, and sharing my new arty adventures from tropical locales !

Big love, Beautiful Ones,

and may your living be full of things that make you feel ALIVE !

Where you been, Queen of Arts ?

I am missing blogging.

But life has been keeping us busy around here.

Surviving winter…

Kind of fitting that I started the month and the year with a barefoot romp in the snow,

and that I just ended the month poking my toes outside this morning.

IMG_7464

I was letting out the dog and felt the warmth of the sunshine on the back deck and had to step out

and play with my shadow for a minute.

IMG_7462

Not ready for bare feet walking out there at all but the minute I spent out there reminded me that warmth and spring will get here eventually !

IMG_7461

Little Jayden has been conducting our lives a little as we help out his mom where and when we can,

keeping our hearts all mushy and filled with baby love !

IMG_7449IMG_7454IMG_7450

That, and some major house de-cluttering, as well as some big life changing decisions coming down the loop,

have kept me from getting to making much art these days either.

I am feeling the itch of that though, as I always do when I go too long without getting messy.

Making a promise to myself to get back to that asap.

I was thrilled to receive my contributor’s copy of this beautiful new book by Patti Digh,

the Geography of Loss in the mail yesterday.

IMG_7465

I was so pleased with how my art work was featured on page 19,

IMG_7466

with a perfect “Embrace what is:” inspiration.

IMG_7466

It is so special to see your own art work in a published work of writing like this !

I so appreciate how Patti encourages and supports artist in such special ways.

Thanks for letting me be a part of it, Writer-Lady.

There is more in store for us as collaborators coming soon !

So yes, big changes look like they are on the way for David and me.

If things work out as we think they will, this will be the last winter we spend in the North East US for awhile…

More news when things come clear.

Happy Friday, beautiful Ones !

Big Love !

Pink Full Moon brings change.

May it be soft and subtle

On our tender hearts.

***************

This week flew by and here we are at Friday.

I am having a bit of a hard time digging my roots back into the usual routine after spending such an intense and precious time with my Mom.

I am looking for purpose and meaning in everyday things. I am also trying to find balance my need to take care of and nurture myself, and offer love and support to others….

Oh, SHIT!!!

Maybe I am just spending way too much time thinking and reflecting,

and far too little playing and living and soaking it all in.

Well, I am going to fix that !

The weekend will be spent getting some stuff organized,

and spending some sweet time with my Honey.

And then, I am headed north again,

but this time only as far as Charlotte, VT.

Oh, yeah!

I need me an  e.b. fix BIG TIME!

Creating, tea, wine, celebrating, dancing, looking, nature, nurture, Love !!!!

I am on my way, Magic Maker !

Bring it on,  Big Pink Moon, bring it on !

Happy Friday, Beautiful Ones !

May the Pink Moon be sweet to you.

Haiku My Heart - Creating our Way...

No map is given
At the start of our journey
We must create one.

More haiku and beautiful hearts at recuerda mi corazon (http://corazon.typepad.com/)

*******************************
With just a few art supplies at hand here at my Mom's, I filled these little pages with doodles and tea stains.
Quite quickly, maps seemed to be emerging.
Maps of where ? To where ?
Not at all sure, but the map making is definitely part of this process of life, isn't it ?
Things are different now, having lived through almost losing my Mom, and seeing her strength, resilience and need to change some paths on the map for the betterment of her well-being, for the betterment of her Life.
Things are different for my path too.
Battered and bruised perhaps, but still certain that when the road is paved with love and light, we can all get where were are supposed to go...

Big love to you Beautiful Ones !
